Silver Certification

I only come here after I have exhausted every website I know in order to find the information, which is: MSPA and others talk about Silver Certification, but I cannot find how to take the "exam". Where is it? Is it online? How do I link to it? I read that I have to pay $15.00 - it looks like it should not be so hard to find!

Thanks

Hey, bugspot, haven't seen you here in a while. You're spending too much time at the competition. We need some of your funnies here.
competition?? I check over here every day but to be honest........haven't done much shopping lately.........was sick for two weeks.....just started to feel like my ole self again. Starting to pick up more shops. Also, always busy scoping out freebie sites and posting those for everyone........smiling smiley

When you sign up with a company they may ask for your certification information. You will be asked to enter your certification number. They will know quickly whether it is valid or not.
To my knowledge I was never given a certification number. Did I miss it and where do I find it?
If you sent the MSPA $15 and took their "Silver Certification" test then they should have sent you a certification number. If you want more information about their program, their website is [www.mysteryshop.org] Read through their FAQ because they indicate that there is no guarantee that being certified will get you more jobs etc. They carefully state, "Certification may give you an edge with some companies. Imagine two shoppers in the same town, with the same experience and work performance. One is certified and one is not. All other things being equal, the certification sets one shopper above the other with some companies."

Certainly certification is not required to shop. There are a small number of companies that do seem to give preference to certified shoppers and they seem to be companies most deeply involved with the MSPA. There are a huge number of other companies out there who don't give a hoot if you are certified or not. They are much more interested in how you have performed on jobs for THEM and what kind of education and experience you have. So it is free choice whether you decide to spend $15 to buy a certification or just get on with mystery shopping. It is possible to do quite well in this business without it.
If you didn't print out your certificate or write down the code somewhere, you can go back to the MSPA site and get your code or reprint your cert.
