usps.... cant find them in the new system

Susan L.: Thank you for the listing info reminder. I had been looking only on the naked company site--forgot the info about being on the secret site in the earlier thread.

Guinea pigs, Okie.

In South Texas, I'm seeing the same locations that were on the other MSC. Which is good and bad I guess. I don't understand why some locations get shopped but others do not. There doesn't seem to be the HAZMAT or authorized agent shops. Just the postal service locations--post offices.

Its a good sign that they're at least present. Hopefully they'll be back to their former glory.
Has Texas been informed?

I'll see myself out...

Just a heads-up for the few (two people) picking up shops, post offices are closed on Juneteenth, Wed 6/19.
Yep, was just coming here to say the same thing....no Wednesdays this week. There's a mess of them in my area, but with no real reason to ship, why would I even consider doing this shop without any pay??? They must be crazy!!
Mine got axed for Wednesday as well. I didn't even think about it being a holiday because the MSC included it in the 3-day range I had to choose from. I countered with Friday and haven't heard back. Time's running out for me to be able to return the watch.

I once threw a rock from my yard into a lightweight box to make it heavier. the other end never said a word.
There are also some quite heavy boxes which are reinforced and those boxes empty weigh a half pound.
If you come across a smallish one someday where you can peel off the labels just keep it in case you ever need to send something too light. Then double pack your box inside the shipping box that is heavy.

Welp. Looks like Tokyobay is getting their watch back with a surprise bag of pinto beans. I haven't done a post office shop in years...I'm very nervous.

I see a bunch of them. Still $15 with no reimbursement. No thanks. I saw them for the first time yesterday.
I am with you no reimbursements so arent making any money only what it doesnt cost to ship the package. Its ridiculous.
They’re in Northern California now. Charge your Tesla or fill you tank with $7/gal gas, take a friend to drive around the block because parking is insane, and go do these for no real fee. I guess it could be $11 + $4?
I used to ship a 1 pound bag of rice back and forth back when the shops reimbursed expenses. I can't do afford to do that now. Fortunately the rice hasn't reached it's expiration date, so now I'll just have to eat it.
sandy, ziploc bags of rocks were my box contents for years. I had 20 bags weighed and ready to go in a continuous rotation. Good times.

Gas is that expensive there? Damn. I just filled up for $2.79 a gallon.

If the post offices don’t have parking lots, where do they expect you to park?

Street parking. Where, if you have your lucky pants on you might find a spot, and then you pay at the meter or maybe earn yourself an $85 parking ticket!

Keep in mind that I'm not 'from the big city': I've always found it ridiculous that any business expects you to pay to park in order to give them your business. -lol- That a post office expects it just blows my mind.

That'd be like me having to pay to park over at Tractor Supply.

LBJ Hospital in Houston. You had to pay to park. County hospital. Unbelievable.

On the new round with the new MSC...can you ship packages to yourself or do they still have to be to a different city?

They still have to go to a different city/zip code from where you're shipping from. The only things that stand out:

1. Check-in is required
2. An exterior photo that includes the flags is required
3. Photos of exterior issues you report (damage, dirt, etc)
4. It seems like the questions about the employee's uniform and the menu boards have been dropped.

Everything else seems almost exactly the same. Same rules - 30 minutes after opening/30 minutes before closing, 5 per day max/24 per week max, report one before you do another location, 30 minutes between locations done on the same day. It's very similar to the old shops except for the big issue: $$.

I'm curious - why would you ship something to yourself? There is no fee left on this shop, so just making up a shipment doesn't seem like it wold be worth the time money gas or effort? Just for fun?

Cassie, metro is asking in the hopes that the fee structure will either go back to what it was previously or else these shops will receive bonuses due to people not taking them.

He's playing the long game. -lol-

In Los Angeles where I am the majority of post offices have a parking lot. I am on the West side so I do not know about downtown LA . And the website now has jobs for post offices in my area. I will wait and see if the fee comes back as the only one I might use this for is in zone 8 so I will hold off to see if eventually there is a bonus or something. I do not mind a flat fee vs reimbursement and fee as long as it is enough to cover the cost of shipping and some payment for my time.
And I see we are asked to sign in on the app. I have never used the app. Are we supposed to do the entire report on the app or is it only that one step? If anyone has done one are we still required to type in those long tracking and other numbers from the receipt?
Did I miss some of the instructions or
is there
No maximum weight per package?
No zone restrictions?
There has never been a maximum weight per package. The old shop said to target a 1-2 pound package, and reimbursement loosely aligned to that. If you shipped something heavier, you just went out of pocket. Now its all out of pocket, so if it was me and I had something heavy to ship I would use Ground Advantage and call it a day.

@sandyf Sounds like the right platform and MSC. The title for me was, "Have A Package To Ship?" First time I'm seeing the shops, as I was working my way up from a negative reputation before.
I have not seen any on the MSC's Sasisie site, but I just happened to check the ISecretShop app and they were listed there. It didn't look like any of the ones in my area had been taken smiling smiley.
I consider these flat rate shops so the previously reimbursed amts can be written off against the pay. Maxing out the entire $15 will not be hard.
