Where are the Sonics for July?

Not seeing any on my board did they quit or change companies?

Be patient. They may be waiting until after the holiday to release shops.

Memorial Day 2024 scheduling was not affected by holiday.

Sometimes companies change/lose contracts at the end of June due to companies fiscal calendar.
Two things:

Memorial Day was at the end of May, so the MSC probably wouldn’t have delayed releasing the May shops. The 4th is obviously at the beginning of the month, so I could see that impacting the release of July shops.

Sonic just released, a purportedly permanent addition to their menu, a $1.99 menu. I can see this affecting the release of July shops.

I did do a Sonic on January 2, 2024 and on January 3, 2024.

So we will see!

Have a great 4th!
I did 2 yesterday. 6/30/24. Just a little weird because they are usually posted a few days before the end of the month prior.
those may have been shops done a second time for some reason and finishing up June. who knows.
This MSC has been slow posting shops for a couple of their other clients by a few days, or a week, recently. I'd wait a week to be concerned.
It's so funny that people are panicking over a $9 hamburger shop. That's telling regarding the economy and our industry.

I can totally see the MSC waiting until the 5th to release shops in order to avoid the whole "hey I couldn't do my shop on Friday so I went on Thursday instead and now your crappy editor says she won't pay me at all I should get a bonus for going a day early" headache.

People are stupid - you know it happens.

Don’t think anyone is panicking just having a conversation. The shops are usually posted by now so I thought maybe another company took them over like when the company that has them now took them over from MF.
I came here to ask the same thing. It seems all the jobs were late showing up. On 6/30 all the jobs ending on 6/29 were still up. Chevron jobs showed up during the day today, but still no Sonic.

Perhaps; however, when it shows up on three different threads.... smiling smiley

What's even funnier is I hadn't even thought about Sonic shops for July, even though I do normally look for them. And I may not have thought about them for awhile longer had it not been for this post. I guess I don't miss them as much as I thought I would smiling smiley
hmmm, I didn't miss them or the Customer First shops.. still don't..
I just wonder if the Sonics have been moved to another company. Usually when this happens the fee goes down. These aren't a big money maker but when I drive by two it's stupid to not do them. I did four last week at $20 each, now that's a money maker.
They are easy to do and fill in my route. Mystery shopping is a fun way to make a little extra income. It is not done out of financial necessity (as implied in a prior message) but it is something that I have enjoyed doing for over 30 years.

Have a great 4th!!
At one time, there were three MSCs doing Sonics. I was registered with 2. The last few months, there was only been 1 per location. No bonused shops. I haven't done them.

Do not read so much, look about you and think of what you see there.

The MSC just released the following via an email:

"Sonic is changing and there are new mystery shops you can grab. You will still order food through the drive in stall, drive thru, or by dining in but each shop could be different.

Instead of picking from a limited menu with many different options, you'll complete a "Burger" or "Chicken Sandwich" shop - yep, you heard right! New potential assignments include burgers, chicken sandwiches, or hotdog options with either fries or tots. There are also assignments specific to ordering the featured item (and a drink if you want but not side) and even a wacky pack.

This new format will be launching soon but not in every market - keep checking the job board if you don't see shops near you!"

My beloved chili cheese footlong is coming back! I may dance a jig of glee.

Woohoo, Chicken Sandwiches along with hot dogs, this is definitely a change for the better! I hope we see Limited Time Only shops coming along more often, I like trying the new items they come out with.
Will the Sonics still be with the same company?

That email made me excited! I want a chicken sandwich and a wacky pack!

Definitely and improvement over the hamburgers only edict. I wish they would let us order onion rings as well. Just some variety.

My complaint all along has been if they want to know what an average customer experiences, they should let us order like an average customer. Not everybody orders a burger and plain fries or plain tots.

There is a trade-off between gathering data from the "average experience" and gathering reliable data that can lead to improvements. That's the case for any mystery shop, which is why they expect guidelines to be followed - even when it may not make sense to us as shoppers. Standardization ensures consistency across all mystery shops. I'm honestly surprised they don't treat it like a lot of the pizza shops (RE: Medium, Hand-tossed, pepperoni only). More variables get introduced when you bring in other complex items, like the onion rings @metro25782 wants. Onion rings take longer to fry than french fries or tots. This can have an impact on the overall time, which is important on this shop. In the onion ring scenario, those going over the data would not know if the 10-minute wait was due to Sonic frying fresh onion rings or if because they were short-staffed and backed up on orders. The Sonic shops focus on core areas like accuracy and speed. Keeping the menu limited ensures they get consistent data that can be compared. This way if a store underperforms, they know how to fix the problem. That's how it is supposed to work, though I wonder if my local Sonic proprietor ignores the feedback he gets. At least they have changed-up the options some and that's good.
I hear you. However, I'm pulling a Supreme Court justice and writing a dissenting opinion. -lol-

At most of my Sonics, when I order a burger, plain fries/tots, and a drink, the carhop is at my window within 90 seconds - no joke- so you know the food is pre-made. To me, that's almost like they're gaming the system and invalidating the timing data. I wish Sonic would emphasize quality (yeah yeah, I know) and freshness (yep, I'm living in a fantasy world) rather than a 30-second microwave button. If they're pre-making burgers and fries/tots, they're likely also pre-making everything else. If that's the case, allowing something like onion rings wouldn't make a difference in their already-skewed timing.

This post relates to Sonic, but not the shops.

Until approx. 20 yrs. ago, there was a single Sonic in my area. Then, in a short space of time, some one or ones opened 16 additional locations. After a single yr., the first closed and now there are only four remaining and, as I pass three weekly, it mystifies me they are able to remain open. All that were built in small towns near me are gone.
So happy to hear the menu options will change. I was sick of burgers. Can't wait for a foot long again, I know they are garbage but once in awhile one has to indulge.
