I got shot during a Shell shop!

It was with a squirt gun, but the opportunity for alliteration was too good to pass up.

I had stepped back to take a picture of the counter after asking the cashier who assisted me to step away.

Felt what I thought was water dripping from the ceiling and reacted, only to find another employee who had been acting saucy with everyone, flashing her piece. In this case, a see-through neon-orange affair.

Classy.

I quit doing the Shell shops about 15 years ago. Pay was too low for the risk of getting run over in the lot.
NGL, you got me. It's a definite possibility, though.
I stopped doing Shell shops when a trucker exposed himself to me right in front of the employee while waiting to evaluate the men’s restroom, The employee got so flustered, he left me with this pervert while he went to call his manager. I figured it wasn’t worth it and never gave considered doing another one..
CoolMusic, I'm glad you survived your encounter with that employee packing see-through orange heat!

That must have been during the "revealed" portion of the shop!
How was that report written?

I called the MSC to let them know what happened and to see how/if I should include this in my report. I, obviously, was quite shaken, but completed the audit.

The MSC said they would pass along to the client what had happened. That was the reason I contacted them, I didn’t know how much detail to put in my report. I have no idea what consequences, if any, the employee faced. I have never gone back to that location and have not shopped a Shell since.

This was in broad daylight at a busy truck stop. I don’t know if cameras captured anything since this was at the entrance to the restroom.

It didn’t occur to me, at the time, to call the police. All I could think about was finishing the audit and getting out of there!

Gas stations used to be my thing. I cut back severely after that and now only shop one brand. If there is a truck stop attached to it, I won’t do it.

This happened several years ago. But I don’t think I ever really got over it.

Those Shell evaluations used to pay between $25-$50. Same for the other gas stations in my area. Now they’re $12-$14.

NOT worth it for the crap that an evaluator has to deal with these days.

Definitely not worth doing for base. This one was $30 + reimbursement for 12 pumps. That's about my break point. Doing one today for $25 + reimbursement that's only 4 pumps.

They must have got all of the Shells assigned with the last bonus up to $50. I don't see them anymore. Some of them in my area are so messed up, I don't know that $100 would be worth it.
There are still Shells left in my area.
The last of the Shell shops here disappeared somewhere around $30.. I think my son did one at that price because it was on the way to somewhere else and only had 4 pumps.
I just had 3 rather close together ones for $50 each. One was a pain with 16 pumps, the other two had 6 so not bad at all.
