Lids
A toboggon is what I sit on to ride down a snow covered hill. Did this stem from toboggoning hat as in a hat I would wear to go tobogganing? I'll never accept that a hat can be called a toboggan

I disagree I grew up in NY State ( much different than growing up in NYC). We called a toboggan the sled type vehicle you road downhill over snow.
I always thought a toboggan reference to a knit cap was a Canadian thing. I stand corrected.
Can we now start a thread about soda vs. pop vs. " Coke" ( what flavor, it's a Southern US aka Texas, generic for a soda)?

Yea, that toboggan thing got me not too long ago. I've always called them beanies or stocking caps. And some lady was asking for toboggans to take to the hurricane Helene victims. I had to ask what flooding victims needed a snow sled for..
Were all of those hats ringing up $3 or was it just for that one college? Has anyone else gone to Lids to confirm they were able to get the same deal? There is a Lids in the area, no shop and wouldn't want it for a zero fee, but I wouldn't mind going there to get those hats and give them out for Christmas.
Canadian's call them Toques, French Canadians spell it Tuque.

They were for the local university and the rival university in my state. I shopped a second location and they did not have any hats similar. These must have been left over from last winter. The other Lids had some clearance hats and they were more of a sun visor. Lets now start the comments on what others call a "sun visor."

Thank you for the follow up GIGI. Those caps seem expensive or maybe its been ages since I've purchased one.
I don't know another word for Sun visor. Maybe we're on the same page for that

I did two of the LIDS shops - one at Paris St. Germain where I found a t shirt on sale for $18 (under the reimb amount), and one at the NBA store where I found a pair of fuzzy socks for $18.99 (same). Inbetween, I mistakenly shopped the ACTUAL Lids store right inbetween these two locations and found a really nice Yankees hat on the sale rack for exactly the reimbursement. So - technically I can return the Yankees hat but I actually like it so I may keep it or at least gift it. But yeah I agree, finding stuff under the reimb is not easy at these locations.
