Full-Time Scheduler Position Available

Low paying assignments has been a regular topic of discussion here. But I’ve noticed that Amusement Advantage has been trying to fill a full-time position for a scheduler for awhile now. While the prospects of working remotely could be really tempting for some, the list of requirements/expectations seems pretty extensive for the pay range of $15.63 - $18.75 per hour. I’d imagine this is why they haven’t been able to fill the position.

Are these companies paying so low because that’s all they can afford? Or can they afford more but don’t because there are generally enough people who are willing to perform the work at the minimal pay/reimbursements offered?

I have completed one shop with that company and I had to accept a pre visit phone call with the scheduler as a requirement to go over the directions for the shop. The call was supposed to be 1/2 hour and the lady talked my ear off for almost 1 hour. I wonder if she was trying to run up time. I felt like the call was completely unnesessary as the shop was very straighforward.
The time requirements were over the top, including nights and weekends. It felt like you needed to be available all day, every day for like 25k/yr. No thank you.
Fast food pays $20/hour in CA. Basically, everything pays $20 an hour or more, since you can get that at ant FF place. Panda starts at $24, at least in the Bay Area of CA.

I would not want to depend on flaky people and get that pay rate. Some of those shops are hard to fill too. (I have done at least 30 shops for them & I have worked as a full-time scheduler, which was paid by the shop filled, not by the hour.)

It's at least throughout CA. I was a Panda Saturday (Don't judge me...it was across from the EV charging station) in central CA and they had the $24 offer up, which made me think the same thing; This is a way better deal than just about any MS gig.

I worked as a scheduler earning $18/hour more than 20 years ago and found that unsustainable, so it's hard to imagine in todays economy, but perhaps the MSC is holding out for the person in just the right circumstance (i.e. desperation) to fill the job they have decided is worth that.

To answer the OP's question, I think the MS is as fault for valuing the position at that rate and basing the fees they charge on it.

If you are capable of full-time on-location work and could potentially get by on $18, then $24 would be an amazing jump up in lifestyle for a job that you would almost never have to think about when you were not at work.
Federal minimum wage is still $7.25
Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Wyoming all still pay $7.25 as of January 1, 2024.

So, I guess they should recruit there?
At one time, I thought being an editor would be a comfortable and relaxing gig on the side. Just review the reports during the night. But since visiting the forums, I think I would only want to be a shopper!
or maybe a scheduler for RBG? could be breezy lol
