Lego displays in Walmart

I just completed my one Lego trial job. It was…. easy? My husband and I rolled into Customer Service with boxes in cart. I asked for manager and showed the letter. The manager did not even speak to me, just waived me in with the giant boxes. We hung that sign up in less than 5 minutes after studying everyone’s experiences, we were prepared. husband says easier than beanie babies. Faster for sure!

Yeah, with two people getting it into the store and unboxing would take longer than hanging for sure!

I am so thankful you shared. I just got my boxes today and my husband and I were planning to roll over there tomorrow assuming at 5’10ish we wouldn’t need a ladder smiling smiley.

I’m happy to hear everything went well for you and your husband. Now you just need to drag your husband along on all of your Lego audits, LOL.
I don’t think my husband will travel with me, some of these locations are 200+ miles away and he’s not much for road trips unless we’re going on vacation.
Not sure if you are 5 foot 10 also, but that’s what I was referring to, I am 5 foot 10 and still needed a ladder because hanging the display on top of something 6 foot high, was not easy to maneuver mostly because I couldn’t stand in front of the display. We had a 4 foot long rack in front of the display that was completely in the way, so we both stood on each side of the rack and lifted the display into place. Husband was on the floor, and I was up on the ladder.
So true!!

I just did a couple of Walmart jobs for another company (thankfully paid by the hour - only way I would do one these days) and the incompetence at some are mind boggling.

I literally asked to speak to the "hardware manager" the girl doing returns had such a blank expression that I knew she didn't even know what I was asking. She asks an obvious higher ranking person who was headed into the locked office who then gave me a withering glance (the who the heck are you and leave me alone look) and said she would call someone (I could overhear that neither of them knew who was in charge of hardware - turns out there is only one person for about 4-5 depts.).
A few minutes later I can overhear her on the walkie and she is like ... " Can "somebody" come up to CS to help a customer with hardware". OMG, really??
Of course 5 minutes later nobody has shown (why would they?) and I tell the clueless girl I am heading to the Hardware dept. in case anyone shows up.
Once there I stopped an employee stocking goods, asked if he could page the dept. manager and he pointed at someone coming my way. Done, and done.
PS - I think they have done away with the vendor log, nobody references it anymore or even knows what one is.
======================

I imagine at a Walmart you may be signing a vendor log, waiting in line at customer service, standing around waiting for a manager or department head, waiting while they radio someone, waiting while they look for the display in the back, etc. At a gas station, just announce yourself to anyone and get going.[/quote]

You know who is worse? Kroger! I have yet to be greeted in a civil manner nor.treated with anything resembling respect. They apparently despise the reps who handle the vendor displays. I had no idea but now I know. No activities that require their assistance without a fat bonus.
