Movie Theater Jobs

Has anyone done any of the movie theater jobs? There seems to be ones where you watch the trailers and ones where you take photos in the lobby of ads. Just wondering if they are worth it.

General consensus here is that the trailer checks are not worth the pay. It's not just taking photos in the lobby, some advertising materials are outdoors--in the rain or snow some days.

If it is only 1 or 2 screens it can be if you have nothing else to do...at all. More than that and it really isn't
I signed on because someone else did and we were going to both try it (just not together). But, in reading the details, I quickly realized that you don't get to watch a movie after the trailer check, you are just going to all the screenings to sit through the trailers. Easy work but extremely low pay if you calculate per hour so I haven't done one and will probably just delete my account there.
I used to do trailer checks, opens, and some of the advertising checks both on screen and off. I never did Standees because of my physical limitations, and I didn't take my son with me everywhere back then. I worked for CWA for a while, but after several years of never having a problem, a theater owner threw me out of his facility, and lied to CWA, told them that I was watching the movies instead of checking the ads before the trailers. The theater owner kept saying, "I'm not doing anything wrong, you won't find what you're looking for and you can't do anything to me." So for a few more years I worked doing trailer checks and opens for VeriTES. But Covid put that to bed.

I never scheduled anything for Fridays and the week day before each major holiday, because I was going to be doing trailers. Now I mostly do grocery shops on Fridays for the 4x fuel points. lol

The answers depends. How much free time do you have? How much are you hoping to make? The job you are asking about really does not pay a lot. But, that being said, it will flucuate, depending on where you live, what theater is available in your area, then how many screens you will be checking each week.

As others stated you do not get to watch the movie itself only the trailers.

The other assignment you are referring to is a lobby check, its done once a month now. You take pictures of everything movie related, from standees, to posters, popcorn tubs, to outside materials as well. Whatever your theater has, that is on the list.
Ive never done one of these, but may I ask, why can't you watch the movie? The ones I see listed in my area mention watching a movie as part of the job advertisement. Also, if you are already in the theater watching trailers, why do you have to leave after the trailers end? The ones I am referring to are listed at a $5 shop fee and up to $80 reimbursement for food and tickets.

What you are looking at is a mystery shop. A trailer check is an announced audit. You audit the trailers and then leave.

You are referring to a different company. There are different types of Theater jobs that are out there. Some few and far between. The one the OP asked about is called Trailer checking, and Lobby checking. Trailer checkers are assigned to do just that. Check Trailers only for Movie Studios. What you asked about is a completely different scenario, sometimes they are announced audits, sometimes they are covert, and you are told to complete different scenarios, but as mentioned this is separate from what is called a trailer check, and the company who conducts trailer checking.
