When I did my shop I was surprised I was not charged tax on my sandwich. I looked up the rule under California law and it seems if it is cold, not part of a combo and in a place which is mostly take out there should be no tax. My sandwich was rung up as take out even tho I told them I was eating it there. Having an extra $1.50 to spend was a happy surprise.Thinking back I suppose when I get take out it is almost always hot food so I was not aware of this.

I had noticed that most will ring up with no tax if take out so I add a bag of chips and still come in under the reimbursed amount.

Are they labeled as 'gold' or 'premium'? I see some shops ( I forget the MSC) with $200.00 reimbursement for dining. Is this premium or does anyone have a chance to be assigned? I have no idea at any of the MSC if I am being offered select assignments.

I just came here to say that I think I found a "gold" shop that apparently I'm not qualified for. There was one I have never seen with a nice reimbursement in an email that has all shops that still need done for the month, including many Jersey Mike's locations. I clicked the link for the guidelines which took me to the shop board and the shop is no where to be found, so I'm guessing it's hidden from my view.

I think the "gold" level is not as important post-coronavirus as they don't really have many high end clients anymore. Capital Grille and Eddie V's were shops that only gold shoppers saw.

This one was called Napa, I'm guessing it's not a chain since I have not heard of it before. It's about an hour from me.

I did one of these today. As I swung around the counter to pay for my order, I caught sight of the nastiest floor, covered with bits of meats and vegetables and even clothing.
But the report doesn't ask about the floors...ugh.

The MSC wants to see if the slicer has been cleaned or if it has leftover meat from previous slices

No not hard especially if you sit at a tablr

Did you change your miles when you logged in? Maybe if you extend your dustance out it will show.

I do the same thing for my photos. Good idea.

The only Napa I know about is an auto supply store chain. I have no idea if it is shopped.

I've been ordering a giant and paying $5 oop until I decided that hubby and I can share a regular sized sub. I just realized now that guidelines say I could order more. My total is a little over $11 with a regular sub, so what are some options to try to stay under reimbursement? Will a combo work or just chips or drink?

It really depends on the location. I visit a few in my area and the beverage prices vary. I have found it helps to look on the app or website to get pricing of the individual store. I often get a regular #6 and a drink or chips, and sometimes I'm .50-$1.00 over, which I am OK with.

I usually buy two bags of chips that brings the total with tax to about $13.50 I send the chips to my college-age grandchildren in a care package using USPS shops.

I get extra meat and leave the rest as a tip ($1.90).

This is good to know, I always read the parameters as saying they would not reimburse the tip under any circumstances. I agree with usually tipping any overage if it's not a place that one would usually tip 15-20%.

Yeah, that is about as clear as mud on their end, isn't it? They do reimburse for the tip even though it looks like they won't.

Before the sub prices went up and the previous MSC still had this client, I used to be able to get extra meat and extra cheese and still be able leave a tip. I don't really care that much about the extra cheese. I always get the club supreme (turkey, roast beef, bacon, and swiss), it's a delicious sandwich.

As shoppers, we do not pass or fail a client on an assignment. We simply report what happens and the information we provide is reported back to the client after editing. Are you one of Kayla’s followers since this is the language she consistently uses?

Ehh, to quibble...we can give feedback that amounts to "failing" the shop, but it has to be documented. Our opinions are a part of the shop.
