As promised, I am sharing the results of my use of the digital LOA,
When I arrived at the location, I noticed that the canopy was a different brand, along with the store logo, but after I pulled underneath the pumps, the buttons where you select the type of gas, still says Shell. So I went ahead and performed the first part of the shop as if it was still a Shell location. I returned to my car and put on the orange vest and went back into the store. As it turns out, after I introduced myself, I learned that the location is no longer sponsored by Shell and that even the business name changed to a different brand all together.
The digital LOA on my phone worked excellently, I had taken a screenshot of the LOA and put it in a new album in my photos and then hid the photos that I wouldn’t want an employee to see (like the instructions) in the case that he/she accidentally closes out the LOA screenshot. Not once did the employee ask to see a printed copy and even the manager was present, and was just fine with the digital LOA.
I guess I’m not as particular as so many others who have commented on this forum about letting someone else touch your phone. I would never let a young child or toddler touch my phone, but an adult who is standing right in front of me, with the phone on the counter and they are just zooming in so they can see what the wording is, is not a problem for me, since I didn’t have any other apps open. When preforming merchandising audits with other companies, our LOA is on our phone, within the audit, and that is how we show the LOA and our digital badge, so this isn’t any different.
I submitted the shop stating that I could not perform the shop because the location was no longer a Shell location.
