I participate in a program for Amazon where I get paid for pictures of receipts. So, I am already in the habit of asking for a receipt EVERY TIME. I might say something about it being worth 15 cents to Amazon if I think they are suspicious. It checks out if they bother checking.

I don't have a problem asking for a receipt. It's just that it will be more likely to mark me as the mystery shopper. Not that big a deal, but I like to get in and out of these as quickly as possible, especially with so many things I'm trying to remember in my head. And I just know after doing them for so long the old way I'm not going to remember about the receipt until I'm 50 miles away, lol.

These days I tell them that when I scan the receipt with an app, I get 2 cents for doing that and the pennies add up. They often ask what app, and depending upon how nice they are, I tell them one or more of the three that I actually use.
