Five Guys Pattie Melt

I have a Five guys shop coming up thinking of ordering the Pattie Melt- has anyone tried it and if so is it good?

Yes, I tried it. The normal inside bun becomes the outside, and I think all sides of the bun, inside and outside, are toasted. All the toasting adds flavor. Otherwise it's like a cheeseburger.

(Edited to clarify that it's the bun that's toasted, not the toppings or side of fries."

It's just a cheeseburger with the bun turned inside out. Not my definition of a patty melt by a long shot.
It is tasty but is a lot of fat and calories. If you are going to indulge, add some grilled onions.
Where I grew up, a Patty melt was basically a grilled cheese sandwich with a cooked burger patty inside. If you wanted toppings, the ones that don't wilt could go in with the patty, otherwise they went in the plate. By that definition what 5G offers isn't a patty melt, but meanings can change over time
I have had them and they are surprisingly delicious, and different than their cheeseburger! Probably because of the extra cheese on it. It is worth a try!
Don’t say that you hate it on the survey or mention that the food is too expensive. I got a feedback message telling me not to mention anything about the cost. Like I give a rat’s behind.
Yes it is good it's one of my favorites of Five Guys it's basically a hamburger on a grilled cheese
