Is anyone else noticing less jobs available?

You might not want to calculate the drive time, but it is TIME spent. So the 20 minutes for the shop is not real time. It's "on site" time.

I get that you want the "freedom" to work when you want to. That is what makes "gig" work so appealing to many.

As far as paying off your house early...if that is a goal you had, that is great you accomplished that. I refinanced 2 houses in April 2020 and took cash out and put it in the stock market and have profited wonderfully with stocks like Carnival Cruise line that went under $10 and Boeing that went under $100. I'll gladly pay 3% interest for 30 years when I can return 10%+ in the market year after year. I get that my parents generation goal was to pay off a house because loans were 8%-15% interest. That makes sense. Not when the rates were sub 4%.

Sorry, don't care about Cali (visited once, way too expensive !) We have our own beaches and NONE of the earthquakes, droughts or fires. Also, you guys deal with a ton of red tape, ordinances and other stupid laws and regulations. I will take my "low-income subsidized housing". smiling smiley smiling smiley smiling smiley

The only stock I own is Exxon. My step father gave me 1,000 shares 25 years ago. I have added 1400 since.
My mortgage, to pay it off was important (highest bill monthly) due to my wife and I getting a divorce( after 22 years) I got the house and the kids in the settlement.

With the example of the $440 made last week on bonus shops, It would be 6.5 hours total. $67 an hour with drive time added in. I understand that I look at it differently (by not an hourly way). Either way, it was a great day! Same way today. 5 stations, 32 miles round trip from home (40 minutes) 75 total minutes (onsite and uploading the reports) 115 minutes. $75 ($37.50 an hour)
"Filing together with my wife, miles, oil changes and other expenses deducted."

How are you deducting both mileage and actual repair expenses?
Never had any repair expenses ever. Miles, office, supplies, meals, phone, internet, hotels, etc.
i see less shops available but i also have decided to cut back as well. I am keeping more of the straight auditor or merchandiser stuff where there is no secrecy and i have papers. I had trouble with a couple company in the last couple months, one was straight up i was sloppy, and i am taking a break or straight up quit the mscs involved.
