Even with the abysmal minimum wage, this is a job for the paid employees.
I’m providing a service regarding feedback about the paid employees and management. I’m not willing to do their jobs, especially for less pay.
We are also “required” to have a (glow in the dark safety) vest and infrared thermometer to perform these running horse jobs…at our cost.
We should be earning at least minimum wage for the report about what we observe, and more if we are expected to do the job of an employee..and be reimbursed for any equipment not supplied by the …company soliciting our services.
We are not janitors.
I refuse to pay out of pocket, earn less than minimum, or ‘pay to work.’
Boundaries…are the only way our conditions and rates will improve. Until the “route” MSC’s provide for these reasonable needs, I will work for others and continue to provide high quality results.
If quality doesn’t matter enough to pay fairly, results will reflect the pittance paid…and timeframes will revolve around how long it takes to get those (literal) pennies on the dollar as promised “bonuses.”
