Planogram Shops @ Big Box Store

Update-

Glad I accepted this “Presto” shop with 2 days left to complete it.

Not at all easy or pleasant due to the lack of clarity communication.

I had to improvise to address the empty spaces for photos due to lack of specific availability to get the shop in on time and uploaded the shot of the storefront in each to get the report to submit.

Added a narrative in the space offered at the end clearly describing the issues, and clear representation of the additional time and effort it cost me, requesting to be bonused for it.

My workarounds resulted in a “report complete” status and it was confirmed submitted (an hour early) … with a popup just a second later noting “duplicate photos may cause your report to be rejected.”

I discovered how good it feels to “fire” an MSC that neglects important details and doesn’t communicate, gaslights, or just messes with shoppers for fun, and does everything possible not to pay not long ago.

I sincerely hope Ipsos will recognize the effort I put forth and do the right thing.

I am really not sure why you had empty spaces for photos.
There were 3 categories within each section so let's say microwaves and cooktops were the first category.
When you go into that category, there are 3 new categories. Endcaps, Displays and In-line. The guidelines had photos as to what these looked like.
So if the store had a display set up that had a fridge, a stove, a dishwasher and a microwave together, that is a display. So in this case, you would have take a pic of the microwave and cooktop price tags and put that in the display category. If that was the only display, then only two pictures were needed. You upload the 2 pics, hit return and NO MORE pics were required. IF you kept hitting next, it expects you had more pics.

When you get to the end cap and there were no microwaves or cooktops on the end cap, you would hit NO and then NO PICS were required.

The in-line most likely had 20 or more items and you needed to upload all 20 photos in that section as that is all that it allowed.

The guidelines said to take pics of all price tags, it did not specify so in that case all means ALL.
I don't think you will be paid extra money for something that you mis-interpreted or did not understand.

I did not have any empty spaces or issues with the submission at all.

Hmmm…
Maybe you got a different report form?

There wasn’t a “no” option in mine in any of the photo areas. Only choice was to shoot a new photo or choose one from my files.

I followed all the suggestions offered here and more in my own.

Appreciate the kindness and help though.
You went too far then. Once done uploading, you hit return, you don't keep going to the next pic slot. Everytime you go to the next spot, it wants a picture. You could have also deleted the extra slots.
Anyone know how to get in touch with a human about Presto shops?

No one responds to the provided email address.
These shops are now showing at $75 in my area, started tonight. I am in Maryland
I just got approved today for one I did on 7-16.

Thanks for the tip.
I did try that.
The report would not submit without a photo in every available spot.

Do you have contact info for a real human there who will respond?

Thanks for the heads up on that. Picked up 2 more today. First one was finally approved last night.
One $75 HD shop became available in my area and I claimed it. First time doing one of these. May be a lot of work, but I have the time, need the money, and it's not outside like all the gas station shops I've been doing.

All gone here. But the usual downstocking at Best Buy that starts at $75 is available.
Can you explain what best buy downsizing entails? Not seen this before.
I did some of the Planograms over the weekend. They went up in price, so I decided to grab some, and its somewhat worth the time if you can manage. If you see some, I have a few tips.

1. If you get one at a Home Depot, be aware that your cell reception may be terrible, as those buildings are concrete fortresses. I ended up using the app when I checked in, took a pic of the outside, and added my start time. When I first started my first shop, I began using the app for everything, but it eventually locked up due to poor reception and the fact that the app hasn't been updated in years. It suddenly locked up mid-upload of photos.
2. I use my iPhone camera app or the Timestamp Camera app. I hold it sideways and click the volume-up button to snap the picture as fast as possible, and then go down each line.
3. To keep track of which group of photos is which, I made notes with single words on them for each appliance type, like "Cooking" or "Laundry," and then ones for each section, like "Inline" or "Endcap." When I switched to another section, I'd make screenshots of each note so that as I scroll through pics, I have like bookmarks for each group of pics. I think for Android phones you can use "Google Keep" which is their version of a simple sticky note app.
4. After I end my time, I make sure to record any notes about my experience (poor cell reception, no endcaps today, etc) and my departure time in the app.
5. Once I come home, I use the website to upload everything in sections using the screenshot bookmarks to separate which pics are which.

My average time on the floor to take pics, organize pics afterward and then finally upload them came to about 90 minutes for each job, so it's about $50 an hour. Not bad. I hope more of these come up again.
Both Home Depot and Lowes have guest wifi. And Lowes wifi is top notch in every store I've been in. Some of the Home Depot stores had a lot less bandwidth, or more likely more customers using it because the signal reception inside their stores really sucks.
These days, free guest WIFI in stores is almost as bad as no cell reception. Its also unsecure so I get wary about that having been trained in internet security,
The first 2 I did were finally approved. The two I did over the weekend were much easier once I knew what I was doing. Aside from the one BB associate watching me like a hawk for 10 minutes, all went well.

I just take all my pics in groups. I take pics of the entire endcap display and then close up of the price tags. I did the same with the displays, full pic of display, then price tags. Once I get to the in-line stuff I just keep shooting. I did notice they added more slots for pictures. I thought I was done at 20 but I had 25 for washers and dryers and it let me keep going. I guess they realized there are way more appliances than they thought in these stores.

I still see 4 more out there but they are almost 2 hours from my house. If I wasn't sitting here at this full time job right now, that is where I would be. Will keep an eye on them, maybe it warrants a sick day.

That's been my experience...if its available at all.

I've never done one, but I believe these are the store audits AZwolfman mentioned earlier.
Yes, it sounds like it. I would never do one of those for $75. It is a lot of work, and instructions are vague. Their device (similar to a cell phone) that you use for the downstocking is stubborn and frequently hiccups. My first one was 6+ hours, but I can now get them done in about 4 hours.

Appreciate the wisdom and validation.
Those who design these assignments should be required test them in the field before they expect us to perform them.

I think you're referring to a different type of assignment. This is done covertly, taking only pics out on the floor using one's phone.

I have now done 8 of these. 6 at the $75 rate. The amount of pics is NO JOKE. The third one I did just got returned to me because I don't have enough pics. There were 150 but here is what I noticed. At first, you were only able to upload 20 pics per slot, now there is room for up to 50 per section. Maybe I just wasn't able to upload all of them originally. Have to look at that later because that one was far and I don't think I am doing a return trip.
You are absolutely right! The app initially asked for 20 pictures per section, but when they return it to you for not having enough pictures, the app allows you to add up to 50 pictures. This is confusing. I went back in to add more pictures, and all the categories said completed, but I was unable to submit my report because I kept getting an error saying one of the categories was still in progress, then my time ran out. I don't think I will be doing anymore.
Have had one in awaiting review since 7/27.
I was told anything less than 100 submissions and you will receive partial pay. If you are organized these aren't hard. I do not upload while in the store. I also approach a manager with the LOA immediately so that makes doing these easier. No one has given me any issues so far. The LOA states ALL appliances not just Samsung.

The planogram job is not covert. No where does it say that.
