Mystery shopping overseas

(if there is already a thread for this, please accept my apologies and please mod as appropriate)

I am a UK mystery shopper and I have seen mystery shopping jobs overseas that I am able to do - more specifically, this job is in the USA.

My question is regarding the money side - in terms of financial reporting, how is this classified?

Is it classified as earnings in the traditional sense where the monies need reporting to the IRS (and as such, this would restrict me as I do not have the relevant papers/visas etc)

Or is this classified in some other way?

Thank you in advance

If you are a UK tax resident, you are generally taxed on your worldwide income, which includes your foreign income streams.
most US companies will need a SSN or a EIN or TIN before they will pay you -- not sure how the international companies work but would assume if you can sign up with your UK equivalent they would report it as Foreign Earned Income. Not sure about work visas and the like.
The problem you will have is not the IRS. Wherever is your income earned, you py local tax and reported at the country of residence. However, the USA requires legal working status for any gig. The reason the 2 girls were denied entry in Hawai, the Canadian writing freelancer, the Canadian sports coach, and a German citizen, and they all made the news as bad Trump, they were actually planning to do freelance gigs while visiting the USA.
