Strange editing issue, has something like this ever happened to you?

Over a week ago, I did a bunch of shops all on one day. In the past, these shops would be reviewed and approved within 48 hours.
In the past month, it's been taking longer - up to a week and now there's a new hitch to it.
Several of them were rejected. I looked at the reason, it was because they were all missing information
in a box marked "optional".
I think in the 2 years I have been doing these types of shops, I might have added something to the optional box once or twice.
Regardless, never had a rejection until now and I've done tons of them.
Instead of arguing about the meaning of optional, I just went ahead and added more detail.
Three days later, all approved now.
I went ahead and asked if they were going to update the report and remove the optional notation so as to avoid future confusion.
I got an answer right away, but it didn't answer my question - it was just something that had nothing to do with it.
So, I responded that from now on, regardless of what the report says, I will not consider that box to be optional.
Ridiculous.
This MSC is known to pay every two weeks. I am wondering if the dragging out and game playing on the editing is a way to delay payment, since now my reports that would have been paid this week, won't be paid until the end of the month and hopefully, they will be then
I'm grumbling about this - just seems like a game.

It seems illogical to my logical mind that the msc would drag out payment by editing issues. Since they appear to be one of the fastest pay companies around if they no longer wanted to pay every two weeks they could easily change their payment guidelines to every three weeks. They would still be faster than most everyone else.
That said, finding errors in guidelines or right there on the report directions that have not kept up with the report pages is common. Glad you were able to save those reports and hopefully by the next time someone takes those jobs they will have corrected the issue.
As I mentioned above, the company has indicated they do not plan to update the report.

Apparently, they will call it out as they see fit, whether the report format is in agreement with the editor or not. If it suits their agenda, the report will be rejected - or not.

They may not have an agenda to reschedule their whole payment calendar, but maybe just for this month.
Hey, it's been known to happen.

Historically, they have paid on time, faster than some, slower than some.
