Amazon Fresh/Whole Foods

Anyone else conflicted about continuing with this project over the 70 cent decrease in pay rate? Definitely thinking of dropping my pick up location which is about 40 min to an hour round trip especially since they dropped the eggs and then the strawberries, avocados and soup. The AF delivery is a little easier since it is delivered and I can order non 365 brand items but my location is terrible and is always out of stock with no substitutes because the shoppers are lazy.

I agree. A strange pay cut. I’m hoping they add something to the order list. In addition to compensation, adding items to the usual order (like the soup, avocados and strawberries) may keep us from sticking out as the obvious shopper. I’m probably going to hang on a little while longer to see if anything changes.
I did just acquire a WF delivery shop. The $9.99 delivery fee plus $5 tip really cuts into the compensation. Not sure how long I will continue with this either.
It's a 10% pay cut. Assuming all of the 525 US Whole Foods stores are shopped, the company will be saving $367.50 / month. Woo-hoo!
Literally thought this was so wild. 70 cents? Seriouly. Insane. And yeah, if they don't add some products I will have to decide if this is worth all the trouble.

I pay the $99 fee per year that allows for free delivery after $25 and also do the alcohol delivery shops 2 or 3 times a month which likely adds to the usefulness of the added fee. That way I can spend $45 on items. But I have so many cleaning supplies and a freezer full of ice cream.
Hmm, my fee was only cut 50 cents. Must be because the cost of living here in LA is so high! I do a pick up shop so maybe they are giving me an extra 20c towards the cost of gas.

Edited to say I got my job for November and I in fact got a 70c pay cut. The scheduler must have made an typo when he told me 50c.

I remember doing this shop during the initial launch and rollout. I had to drop it when moving, and I never could get assigned the location near me after moving. I'm surprised this shop is still running.
What are the required items for the AF shops?

The market cap of Amazon is currently slightly more than 2 1/3 TRILLION DOLLARS.

I am in LA too and my pick up for cut by 70 cents
Any hints on the MSC who does these shops?
The same as the original WF although the items don't have to be 365 -- and eggs are approved again.

@michwilson123 its the smart company. I believe these are assigned to the same shopper each time, so you may have to wait until someone drops or is kicked from the program before you will see them posted.
I applied ages ago but didn't get picked. A different MSC had a couple delivery compliance shops so I got to try that and now I am less sad about missing out. It took SO MUCH TIME!

They couldn't deliver the first day at all, no courier available. They waited until after 11PM to decide they weren't going to get it done and then they just cancelled my order. Not moved to the next day, simply gone. And, half the stuff in my cart was not available to reorder even though they'd supposedly already picked my order for delivery. The next day, my new order was delivered but a full two hours later than the stated delivery window.

Actually the savings would be more since each location is shopped more than once a month.

My shop is in Silver Lake, which is right above DTLA. MY shop is out already
Amazon seems to be implementing various cost savings measures .... big layoffs too. Some are related to AI, but believe the corporate workforce is at least 10% of the total employee reduction.

The big boss needs to pay for that extravagant wedding .... Lol

The 14k layoff this morning is for the management role and they openly admit that it is related to AI implementation.

I think that there's another article from New York Times later this afternoon regarding an internal memo indicating that Amazon has a plan hopping to replacing 600k warehouse workforce with robots and AI in upcoming 8 years

Guess that "Wolf is coming" story that we've been hearing for past 30 years has finally arrived.

On a side note. UPS has also cut 48k jobs this morning. I am expecting that Fedex will follow suit very soon as well.
