Jersey Mike's photos

There is a Jersey Mike's shop available. But it involves taking 1 photo of the slicer area, 1 of the front-line prep area and 1 of the cross-section of the sandwich.
I'm not worried about the photos of the sandwich and the front-line prep, but I'm worried to look suspicious if I take a photo of the slicer.
Has anyone tried it? Is it easy to take a picture of the slicer?

These are really easy to do. Just hold your phone to catch the clicer, then look away as you snap.

I do them all the time. Easier than it might seem. A photo of the bathroom is also required. I walk out of the bathroom with cell phone in hand and take the meat case photo. Most locations in my area have a second slicer in the back area - photo required also.

I will NOT perform shops that require restroom photos. It's creepy. MSC's should ban this reqmt. If I see you do this in a restroom I will take your picture and alert authorities and store mgmt.

I've done several this year. Maybe a regional thing, but no bathroom photos requested here.
I had the same initial reservations about the slicer, but only go to the stores at lunchtime when they're busy so not very noticeable to see someone who's looking at their phone, but actually taking a photo. Key is to position yourself in right spot on the line and be quick about it lol.

For me, the best moment to capture the slicer photo is when the person in front of me is placeing their order. Go when its busy!

Every jersey Mike's I've been in has single restrooms... you are the ONLY person in there.

Thanks to these restroom photos, restrooms are cleaner because the employees are afraid of the consequence, in case the restroom is dirty.

People take restrooom photos all of the time with mirror selfies. Im just sayin'. I don't have an issue with taking photos. I have reported some real doozys.

In the case of JM restrooms, everyone I have seen are private rooms. I am the only one inside. Nothing creepy at all.

Sometimes there is a large sticker on the glass which blocks some of the slicer or prep area view. I just take the best photo I can and then mention the sticker in the "problem disclosure" section of the report. I haven't had any issues with those shops being approved.

I have not taken any restroom photos unless there is an issue to report. They are not part of the requirements here.

I have found that as long as you get some decent photos across the panorama of the sandwich making operation, different angles, the editors are forgiving and will take just about anything you give them.

As I have posted the below on at least 1/2 dz. occasions in the past, I assure all this will be the final recount of my experience of 18+ yrs. ago.

In the spring of 2007, I completed a shop at a local Quizno's. My job was to ascertain if a college student was in attendance and passing out Chase credit card apps. The pay was $15+$5 for a sandwich. In addition, I was paid an optional $5 to snap an exterior pic. A fee of $20+ my sandwich, which was quite tasty.

I do not doubt JM's food is delicious, but, unless I am mistaken, a shopper in 2025 earns a fee of $0 and is REQUIRED to submit 3 INTERIOR pics, each of which COULD be reason for a decline.

Predicated upon the Arab/camel business model, it would not surprise me if in a few yrs., the shop becomes 1/2 reimbursement for 6 pics.

I am NOT criticizing anyone's decision to work for what they feel is acceptable. My sole purpose for sharing the above was to illustrate then and now, to those folks considering this line of work.

Bob replies--The applications were in paper form. Chase would hire students from nearby colleges to hand out the literature and receive a complimentary item. My job was to visit to determine if the students were working the assigned shift, were properly attired and upholding Chase's rules. For the many such jobs I completed, all were held at either a pizza or sandwich shop.

I merely wished to inform that almost 2 decades in the past, I was paid more than today's JM shoppers and less was required of me. Never forget that every pic opens one to the possibility of rejection. If one desires to work for less, that is their prerogative and none of my business.

$20 + sandwich is much better than sandwich + drink, also total amount $25 is better than $15. It is strange because we could assume that with time, the pay would increase.
I don't feel comfortable taking the picture of the slicer. Maybe I'll bring my 13 year old daughter to take the 3 pictures, and in exchange, I'll get the giant sandwich and pay $5 out of pocket (instead of getting a regulat sandwich plus a drink), and share the giant with her.

Me? Where did I criticize shopperbob? I just acknowledged what he said by saying that it's strange that the pay didn't increase but decreased with time. I never expressed any doubt about what he said, I trust him 100%, I am complaining like him about that decrease in pay in 2 decades. I never did JM shops before, but because my birthday is coming close, if I buy a JM sub, I get 72 JM points as a birthday gift (good enough for a free medium sub, with no expiration date), so I'd rather do a shop than paying myself the sub.
In 2011-2012, I did Mc Donald's and Five guys shops, and with the bonuses, we were well paid in addition to having free meal. My wife got fired for Mc Donald's shops because she asked me to come insde share the burger while she should have done the shop alone.

Yeah for real, I did a few when they were new to see what it was all about but now I only do them when they have a bonus which is still a small fee.

Also this is just me but when I consider food I think of how much that food costs them, not the sale price. So if it costs them $4 to make my sub then that is what the company paid me (in food) to do the shop.

Restroom photos are NOT required unless something is amiss. Then you take a photo only of the problem, which could be a closeup. I've never had to take one (Probably because all of the restrooms require an entry code).. The slicer is one of the easier photos to take. The counter is more difficult. Never had a problem getting paid for these. Only one has had a bonus.

Why complicate things? Just ask to pay separately. People do it all the time. For instance, when they pick up lunch for people at work. Each person gets their own receipt.

It's what I did. I first ordered my sandwich for the shop, then I used my points to order with my points using pickup. I made 2 mistakes in this shop. I didn't take a good photo showing the cross-section sandwich, and I didn't take a picture inside the restroom, but because it was my first shop, they still paid me.
