Debit Card Transaction Receipt and Itemized Receipt

How hard is it to get a debit card transaction receipt? Do you have to have both or just one?

Are you talking about a restaurant shop? If so, there is a bill with the things you bought listed and then a separate card receipt after you pay, whether paid by debit or credit. I can't think of another type of transaction where they'd be two separate pieces of paper.
Oil changes generally result in an invoice and a credit/debit slip. Also, some contract Post Offices, some junk removals, some storage units, and I suspect some others as well.

I am talking about the presto buy two things at $7. They are asking for two different receipts. I was thinking about doing one just to see what they are like, but I got to thinking about how hard it would be to get two receipts at places like gas stations.

Simply say, "I need a receipt for work." I did a Visa compliance shop at a nail salon once. I purchased two gift certificates (one cash/one Visa Debit). The cashier did not speak English and it took forever for her to understand. She finally pulled out an old invoice book and hand wrote a receipt. It was accepted.
Language differences definitely make the mission more difficult, sometimes impossible.

Just ask for what you need, you don't have to give a reason. It won't be the strangest thing they have heard, not even a memorable event in the parade for them.

BTW, I sometimes pick up rebate products for my kids while I am getting my own and I have asked a cashier to ring up three identical products separately and I used three different cards. She was amused and did exactly what I asked without any pushback. As my son likes to say, "They don't get paid enough to care."
Ark,

The VISA debit card transaction receipts are easy, you need to make two separate purchases. The first purchase with your debit card, itemized receipt, they won't accept the transaction receipt only, but if you get a separate transaction receipt there is a place for it in the form.

Then you go back into the store and buy the exact same thing with cash, and get a receipt.

And you have to get a picture of the item on the shelf, or a menu, or a sign, with the price clearly present.

It's a pretty simple shop, but incredibly annoying. And sometimes it's weird trying to get the price of the item on the shelf.
You guys, thank you so much for your help! I think I got it now.

On the bright side: the editng department has been scary fast!
I took a loss on one of these yesterday. I made the debit purchase, then went to make the cash purchase and was told they don’t accept cash. Huh?
So I was paid $2(always used to be $5) and no reimbursement Whatever….
I've had a few that would never have passed muster in the last round (those little things that go slightly wrong) but they were approved

Yet another reason to just come right out with it. 'I want to buy both of these but as separate transactions, one on my card and the other is cash." Remember, you aren't trying to trick anyone. You're just buying one for yourself and the other for a friend who isn't physically present but gave you that $10 bill. Nothing weird about that and they truly don't actually care. You'll only get pushback if they have some policy that will interfere with completing the transactions.
Pro tip from non-pro: always be ready to bail.

I made the mistake in the beginning of being determined to get the job done in any way possible. I've since learned that when there is any doubt as to whether the mission will go as planned, it's best to just cut bait and leave.

Like when the owner's breathing down your neck while you browse, making it impossible to get pictures. Or you're at the register with your two items and the manager suddenly tells you about an undisclosed minimum and insists that you buy more items. Or you've bought the first item and are told that there's no receipt paper. Don't bother trying to reason. Just go.

I agree in theory, BUT... If I have already put in the miles and time getting there, I am going to get creative if I have to and explain the situation to the best of my ability. So far, I have gotten paid for getting something close to what was asked in spite of things. I hope that I will recognize a lost cause when I see one.
These are just add ons for me. Always along the way to the real jobs. So no real time or gas investment to get there.

I was speaking more generally.
I picked up a debrand once with a hefty bonus that was rural. Not close to anything. Got there and they'd fenced the whole field off like it was area 51, poor visibility and nowhere to park on a highway. I opted to park on a side street and walk on the shoulder. They got pictures that weren't what was requested jammed into a form that wasn't written for such an occasion. I used the little narrative boxes to give as much information as I could squeeze. They asked a couple questions and approved it. No way was I taking a "closed site" fee when I could show that they had definitely taken down the signage because there was no gas station anymore.
My issue is asking for a transaction receipt. They look at you like you just asked for $1000.

If i get a weird look and it feels awkward, I say, "yea..I have been having issues with my card and I am keeping all receipts." 100% of the time so far, I have gotten an empathetic response and they provide what I need.

That's good! I am going to try this!

I tell people that I use an app called Fetch to take a photo of every receipt and get paid a few cents. Many of the cashiers/waitstaff/etc know of or use the app. I actually do use Fetch and a few others. For me, it is totally free fun that pays me a little.

I did say I was making two separate transactions from the start. I just didn’t mention cash as it never occurred to me that there are places that don’t accept cash.
I have not done one of these since the days you only made one transaction. Can you purchase both at the same time or do you need to leave and come back to get the second one? I suppose it would be hard for the msc to know if you actually walked out and then back in again.
You can do it either way. I have found its easier to just do both at the same time. I purchase gift certifcates at nail salons. I try to do carry out at restaurants especially if I am by myself. Its only awkward if you make it awkward. I have an elderly father and I keep all receipts for any purchase out of his account. In theory, I am purchasing one meal for him with his Visa debit and one for my self with cash (or vice versa). I think the most awkward shop was the CBD shop where I purchased a bar of soap. That is the one where I left and went back in. The cashier said, "you're back!" I said, "yes, decided to get my daughter a bar."

I've seen this but the times I did they had extensive signage. Presumably to let the customers know and to discourage hold-ups.

Sometimes you do all the things right and something still comes up and you get hosed over it. It stinks but there's always that chance.
