Citgo weirdness

So Citgo finally bonused to $15 in my area. Not high enough for me to take a route but high enough for me to do the two on my way to/ from taking my kids to school. I didn't complete any with the new company using Sassie, but the two I picked up today that company had put on Presto so I completed using the Otter app.
1. I HATE Sassie for photo uploads, gas stations with multiple photos - just no
2. I'll take the glitchy otter app any day for gas stations over Sassie.

Required photos are the same, except dumpster area has been added.
This is where it gets weird. Only 3 slots at the end of the report for general infracton photos! When you check a box that for example says 'unauthorized signage attached to main id' you would think a photo slot would be there to upload to. NOPE!

The instructions state you should take multiple photos of the restroom if you can't get it all in one photo. But only one photo slot.

Several questions removed but one thing that stood out, asking if there are hand written signs in the store. That was never a standard before.

I feel your pain. I did a couple as well. The area I didn't understand was the large square to put your experience while pumping gas. That really confused me. There's nothing in the instructions states we have to purchase gas. They approved mine, but I was so confused. I have to get use to these because many of our Exxon's are turning into Citgo.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
Yeah. Sassie is not photo-friendly and takes too many clicks just for one picture. Once I start the upoad I go back to the report window and fill out the next few questions till the upload is done. Rinse & repeat. Except with (I think it's) Marathon (maybe 66) where all the main photos are in one group with no questions to answer in between. I wish all MSCs used Shopmetrics/MobiAudit. Sooo much better!
I finally saw the shop form. Yes, basically the same, but a few more things to remember and TWO NARRATIVE BOXES. Sorry for yelling, but I just hate catching my rythm on a survey and then hitting a narrative box where they want me to explain my opinion.
I hate narrative opinions on gas stations... you want me to like a place? Have spotless bathrooms & don't charge $5 for a 20oz bottle of soda! That is literally all i care about.

Wow, anytime I tried to do anything using Sassie on the phone, I had major problems if I opened another window. I found that I don't do anything (other than hope) and wait for the upload causes me the least amount of issues.

I can get them done, but carefully and saving very often.

I will do a drive by job for less if I have a dedicated app vs Sassie on a phone.
Did the old company have you photograph the pump in worst condition or is that a new requirement on these?
Burried in the guidelines yes, the overview and big checklist in the guidelines just said pump photo but it did say in one place the dirtiest one. Had that back/ forth with an editor there one time when I photographed a diesel pump(it was under the canopy & branded but diesel only) Editor told me you couldn't photograph diesel, I said the guidelines state the dirtiest one.... we went back & forth a few times, I was paid for the shop.
That was the ONLY issue I ever had with editing at that company.

Come on "drive by people", grab the shops they just change the fees on !! Shops that were at $20 for a month, are now $15. $15 ones, are now $10.50 and $10 are now $5 !! Grab 'em !! Why do you people do anything on your phone with Sassie onsite ? Laptop or iPad at home works great, never an issue. Really DO NOT like the new company at all ! Their Presto form is exhausting and now with too many comments ! Alta360 would have had these bonused already and nice routes would be on !
Not everyone can route shop. And sometimes those that do can't drop everything when the bonus gets to 'their' magic price.

I don't know about any "magic price"...I know I'm worth more then 7,8 or $9 fees, that the drive by people are doing. It keeps the fees low and now the reduction in fees, to make it look like a "bonus" when they raise them again. But, you are already raking in $7, why would you want $25 ?
Yeah, I would already have put in offers ffor cleanup routes. I did a few local ones this time around, and putting in the reports was a drag. Not necessarliy harder than other brands, it was was just I was doing more work for a little less money. Will just have to go back to the basics and let the jobs sit.
Good for you?????
I'm cool with $15 and not out of my way. If you're not that's fine, but being mad at those who are is ridiculous. Mind your own business.

Ha Ha Ha !
Forum: A medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.
1. not mad (more disappointed how people value themselves)
2. take all the LOW paying work you want, you don't live near me
3.Merry Christmas (you can shop the Dollar Tree, for those fees)
Ho Ho Ho
Yeah, it is all about how stuff like that works into a route. I can add in 10 minutes for 8.00 to my day if it is there and I don't mind doing it.

I check and see if the debrands are open or closed. I like closed ones. I do the 2 picture w/receipt Citgo.

Bottom is I will do certain work for a cheap per job rate in certain situations, as long as my overall average rate per hour is where it is supposed to be.
I do that too. But some locations are really out of the way. By accepting low pay because I happen to be nearby, it will be harder to get what I need when I won't happen to be nearby. But other people doing them for less doesn't bother me. I just have to look out for me
Just for some clarity...10 minutes onsite(without any issues and customers), plus the report time. So almost 20 minutes.
When I say 10 minutes for the jobs I mentioned I mean 10 minutes total. Maybe 12 if there is a line at the counter. Job done in Sassie.

Edit, I do look on my laptop before submitting as I don't trust the Sassie site on my phone, but it works good enough if you save often, you won't miss any pictures.

Having to upload pictures at home is a deal breaker. I remember those days and am not going back.

Yes! I'm not coming home to upload photos all night. 10 minutes onsite and it's submitted.

I remember 5 or 6 years ago when everyone had credit shops and different MSCs were shopping the same store at the same time.

I did close to 30 jobs in one day. I had a couple stores that had 3 different jobs doing basically the same thing. Many had 2 and due to the types of store, many were next to on another.

I made damn good money that day, but the time entering each job at home is something I would never do again.
They are $15 near me and there are a bunch of them. However, the Citgos around here are all dumps and pretty much the scariest places on earth. The bathrooms are disgusting and usually around back where a potential crack head can be. No thanks.
I'm sorry to stir up the pot...I just can't wrap my head around the "10 minutes". So, you walk or drive around with the Sassie app open ? You answer all questions, take all pictures (including overall location from across the street) and both sides of the main ID (which can be time consuming) and have a clear path to the "worst pump", with customers and cars in the way and get in and out of the store and restroom ? Infraction photos ? Curbs, canopy columns, decking, customer supplies and POP (or lack of)?
I have never used the Sassie app onsite. But, I do my reports next morning while having coffee. No hassles and no "I have to get this done on time" (24 hour reporting time) I also don't just do 1 or 2 shops. I do blow through a Citgo shop taking photos (still can be 10 minutes with the restroom and store)
I only do the CC receipt one or debrands that are closed. I won't do the other type since they are not a true reveal job and they should be.
I used to do the Marathon reveal shops for the old company. I would do certain routes for a little as 12 per job. I could average 2.5 shops per hour local. The deal with those was you could buy gas for the purchase so it was not wasted.
I should say, I was doing lots of those Marathon jobs and they were done every quarter. I knew the stations. I was also able to see how some stations improved over my time doing those. I think for the stations that cared about making their business' better, the shops were a benefit.

Of course not all owners felt that way.
Well that now makes sense ! The Club Citgo, CC and Debrand shops are all super easy !
1. The overall photo does NOT need to be taken from across the street! Most streets are super busy and if you did that all you would get is cars in your photo... take the photo from the edge of the lot.
2. I'm not 100 years old. I can move my a$$. It doesn't me minutes to walk to the MID. (Pro tip- take your overall photo from the corner of the lot near the MID and you saved yourself steps)
3. I don't drive with Sassie open, but I do WALK and i upload (especially using Presto)
4. Start the shop as you are pulling in, meaning LOOK at the pumps/ canopy/ MID... if anything jumps out at you then that would be considered 'noticeable to a customer'.
5. Once you find an infraction for a question you STOP looking for that one. Meaning if a garbage can is overflowing you don't keep checking the rest of the cans, snap your photo and move on.

Better pro tip, is to take the overall on approach and the one side of the main ID and Canopy. Sometimes it can't be done. But, after 1000's of Gas stations, I hit 90% doing this. Huge time saving.
Yeah, I don't use my phone while driving. That's illegal in my state.
