Dear editor

Dear editor.

Thank you for your comments regsrding my shop. Since you like to deduct points from me, I would like to return the favor. For reference, below are your shop comments.

Shop Grade: 8

Comments: CONTACT: We had to contact you for updates/clarification on your report; this contact resulted in an automatic two-point deduction, as it delayed the processing of the report.

My response: Technically, you did not need to contact me. All of the information was already provided in my report. I did not provide any additional information or photos to support my shop. I simply directed your attention to the information that was already provided. The fact that i had to do this results in a 5 point deduction from your grade for being grossly incompetent.

Furthermore, the delay was yours. It took you 5 days to review my report, it took me 10 minutes to respond to your email and then it took you another 48 hours to finalize my report. Seems like the delay is on YOUR end.

I am deducting another 2 points because you simply couldn't acknowledge your error and offer an apology. Your review score is 3. Continued low ratings will not be tolerated.

Super LOL!!!

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
Absolutely agree with this. I don’t know if it was the same editor, but it could be, as I’ve never had this happen before. My report was returned asking for one receipt photo (the credit card slip) that was not specified anywhere in the guidelines or the shop report form.
Editor on a power trip.
I just had this happen to me. I had a full narrative on the host that explained how blah they were and how they put the menus on table & rushed off. I was asked why I said attitude wasn’t enthusiastic and did they wait to hand you menus. I referenced my writing including quoting where I specified what they did with menus. They also asked for two very specific photos that were not required…. SMH. Shop then remained open for almost 3 days before I got generic thank you. Had me sweating it that they were looking to reject out of embarrassment and it was $$$ shop.
Yes, I have had to hold some hands in the past. Honestly never really cared about my grade as long as I was paid.

I don't really care about the grade either, its just the comments I could live without. Irritates me.
Hahaha. I was contacted and they returned the report for me to add details that were "missed". Before I really thought it through, I responded and let them know the missing details were there but someone had deleted a lot of things and changed the meaning because they didn't understand what I had originally said. I was THANKED for the information and my efforts to restore integrity to the butchered report. This tells me that the person who contacted was not the editor but rather a final rvw step before it goes to the client. I bet that happens a lot.

Probably 10 yrs. go, a report I had submitted for a shop at Chipotle was returned to me in error. It had been butchered from an intelligent account of the visit, into a Dick, Jane and Spot exchange. While I conceded it was the MSC's prerogative to alter the verbiage according to what they desired, I decided to terminate our relationship. I never regretted my decision, as just as scores, which are meaningless to me, are important to some, my reports are to me.

The company folded not long after I departed, was reformed and once again left the business. Aside from this solitary instance, I never had the slightest problem with either schedulers or editors. In addition, the pay was very reasonable, although after I left it was reduced.
It's maddening when the editors delete important information that the businesses should certainly see. I shopped a business where the toilets had an extreme longstanding buildup of dried urine, dust and hairs (I even had photos to show the same hairs/scrap of toilet paper on the base eight months apart) but the editor deleted my comment about the buildup, even though I kept the comments factual and professional and did not reference the prior visit where it was also dirty. I guess some places just don't want "unpleasant" information in the reports.
