Do you like working for $0 pay? I do not do these. Some people trip over each other to take these and others do not take them.

JM is one of the better subs out there, but I will spend my time doing shops where there is a fee.
I think their subs are better than most but prefer the hot ones. If they have changed the guidelines to allow the heated ones I would probably do one once in a while. Since I have not checked guidelines lately perhaps they have changed those rules.
One sandwich has to be a cold sandwich, and they give you a list to choose from. But you can order anything you want after that.. get a mini ham & provolone and then get your hot sandwich to stay closest to reimbursement.

Are mini subs allowed? I always thought it had to be a regular size one.
Over 50 JM shops completed, each time with a mini. (I like to get a bowl, and take one bite of the bread to see if it's fresh then throw it away and add everything on the sandwich to my bowl)

Ordering a mini cold one and adding a regular sized one puts me $5 out of pocket. I would not mind if there was a fee to cover that $5. Even two minis would be almost $3 out of pocket. I will do one once a year so i can get my bday reward for the year.
To each their own... I have two options when on ac route
1. Pay about $15 for lunch anywhere
2. Pay less than $4 for lunch plus trade 10 minutes of my time writing a report.
I do NOT count the time at the restaurant as I would be spending that time no matter what.

Of course we all have different needs. I do not need to eat out on my 2 block route to the JM near my house. I get it if you are spending money to eat out anyway this might work but in the big city where I live these shops are on the boards for a long time with never an added bonus.

I get that you might have to buy food when out and about...or you could pack something yourself. If $ is that big of a concern, go to Costco or Sams club and get the $1.50 hot dog combo. no report, no pictures and some tasters for a bigger meal as you walk around the store :-P

i don't want to go somewhere and be told what i can and cannot order and fill out a report and submit several pics for NO pay and a restricted order.

Let me order any sandwich and pay a measly $5 fee and I might jump through your hoops. I try to not to work for $0 pay unless there is substantial benefit and a JM sandwich is no where close to that benefit. TXRH $50 meal for 3 is pretty good, but a JM sandwich of NOT my choosing is not.
The "new" JM shops are on the board, looking just like the old ones done in December and previously. Same food choices, look fors, and pics needed.
I limit my gluten/carbs so one bite of the sandwich then making it into a bowl works better for me than stuffing my face with a bunch of bread/ pizza. It's definitely NOT health food, but a salad with lunch meat is far better than pizza in my opinion. Many times there is no a Sam's/ etc on the route anyway(think rural- taking an extra hour+ drive out of the way)
Also, packing food for a multi day route gets a little complicated. Even just a full day route sometimes it's my 'easy button' to not prep.
Like I said, to each their own. If you like hot dogs & pizza go for it! I prefer an extra 10 minutes of writing in exchange for a lunch I enjoy.

I do not prefer hot dogs and pizza. I was offering that as an even cheaper alternative since the $ seems to matter more for you. I do not dislike JM, but if I can't order what I want, I'm not about to do an assignment for an MSC that pays $0 and tells me what to order. I would rather spend $5 or even less with coupons/deals and going to any fast food place and getting what I want with NO report involved.

This is a hobby for me. If you are doing routes and multi-day traveling, it sounds like you rely on this work and that is why it makes sense for you to do what you are doing.

But I would take protein bars or healthier options than a sodium filled processed meat option especially at NO pay. I need the pay to cover my co-pay at the doctor or medicines from eating all the processed crap from most of these places :-P
I see that the current shops are Pocket shops, but the requirements look exactly the same as the previous shops. What's the difference?

There must be some significance to the label on their side but it appears none whatsoever from the shopper POV. Maybe it's a clever way to get people who normally ignore those to look?

They still don't have any sandwiches in my area which is normally saturated with offers that sit unclaimed.

I'm hoping the contract goes somewhere else with better terms and pocket is their code for "last chance to get these done to put money in our pocket".
The hot dog from Costco may have similar and maybe sllightly better nutritional value. I don't like either. If all you want is a free/cheap meal, just download most any fast food app and put in a new profile for a free item.
a- what is a "pocket shop?"
b- am I the only one who hates both Pepsi and Mt Dew?

The last time I did one of these was on a Wed, anbd the store I was in gives a free drink and chips with a large sub on Wed.
Costco hot dogs have sliced tomato, pickles & lettuce? I like lots of lettuce...

Costs are not a factor if my husband is around, lol. I'm the budget minded one, he's not. (Side note, I work because I want to, not because our budget depends on it)

Ummm... Costco hot dogs have NOTHING on them, you can get a cup of onions with it for free, and there is a condiment counter with mustard, ketchup, napkins and plastic utensils. No fresh vegetables or anything to make them taste like food. They used to have sausages, but now they only have hot dogs for the $1.50.

I don't eat at JM, I'm not impressed by their sandwiches and the need to put piles and piles of mayonnaise on everything. The last time I tried to eat their food the guy making the sandwiches couldn't seem to stop putting mayonnaise on my sandwich, he ruined 4 loaves of bread before he finally remembered to leave it off. Even with oil and vinegar, salt and pepper, the sandwich was still a huge disappointment.
Sam's by me has the little cups of onions and little packages of sauerkraut for the hot dogs. My daughter and I always grab a hot dog and load up on the kraut. While it is a cheap meal, I wouldn't go out of my way to stop in at Sam's for it, only if I'm going there to buy other stuff anyway - they are too chaotic and busy most days.
