Weird video shop question! (Let's talk velcro!)

Does everyone use velcro to secure their cameras, and if not, what would you consider the best method? Is it really essential to have a "pocket" for the button to sit in, or is there a better way? I have tried several adjustments but something about the way I move seems to always cause a scratching noise during video shops when walking. It's so annoying, and I am trying to be the best I can. Also, as I improve I am looking for more shirts but black button style shirts and/or dresses seem to be hard to find. Any particular brands that offer prints that are more camera friendly?

I use a purse with buttons as decor that line the strap. I wear it cross body style.... it sits right between well, you can imagine lol.
This keeps it in place nicely and allows me to check my angles regularly by looking at the camera whenever I want. I can then adust for height of the subject easily.
That is so cool! I'd have never thought of that as an option!
viv, that's a GREAT idea!! wish I'd thought about that when I was still actively video shopping.
No, not everyone does. I use paper tape.
No, it is not necessary for the button camera to sit in a pocket. I tape it to my chest.
Yes, I get my shirts from the thrift shops.
What do you mean by "pocket." I use Velcro to attach the camera to the shirt. I have never encountered the scratching noise. My main issue is angles. Do you have the model with the microphone in the camera, or the one with a separate microphone?

Thrift stores are good. I know how hard it was to find the right shirt. As a last resort, you can consider replacing all the buttons on a shirt with black buttons.
I've mostly mastered the angles. My shirt was customized by Kathy the shopping shirt guru-so my angles are good but when I walk that dang velcro makes scritchy noises that even the shopping companies have commented on. I have the built in mic, which I like but it sits right there at the velcro. I am thinking of getting another shirt and attempting tape instead.
