They are kidding, right?

I see many shops on Presto that are high-end restaurants ( about $200-300 bill), and none of the ones I see would even have anything around $7. I guess that is why so many are still sitting on the board. Is anyone doing them?

The debit card? Maybe two sodas at $6 each? Either way how dumb would it be to walk into a ritzy place and order a soda to go, and then another, when there are probably 10 places on the surrounding block where you could get one cheaper and more easily. That's a no for me. Unless the pay rate goes way up. I don't even like soda.
I adore a good wedge salad. It's $19 at one of my fav places. (Did a full shop there two weeks ago and the bill with no alcohol or dessert ordered was $275)
$19x2 = $38 - $28 (pay plus reimbursement) = $10 plus tax for my lunch for my husband & myself...

I'd do that if it was nearby.
I thought you didn't get to choose to spend more and accept their max reimbursement? If there is anything available that is under $7, you are expected to get that even if it isn't appealing nor useful? There was someone I seem to recall who spent more and their photo revealed candy or gum at the counter being offered cheaply and they were told they should have bought two of that?

It's been about 6 months since I've done one but I went over and was approved without issue. The biggie I seem to remember is that the item has to be priced. If there are priced & non priced items you MUST pick one that has a price, even if you don't want it. If absolutely nothing has a price then you can pick a non priced item.

It would definitely make more sense if they would let us spend as much as we want at our own expense, especially at sit-down restaurants.
The fees go up. Eventually they will cover an item at a fancy restaurant. People that do these do their research and pick off the easy ones first
The reimbursement used to be $8, but I've checked a bunch of the restaurants that are just sitting on the board, there are no meals, or sandwiches that come under reimbursement at all. One of the restaurants the only thing under $8 was a loaf of garlic bread. Then I read the guidelines and it said the reimbursement is $7 now.. So I just gave up, unless they are chinese food I don't want to play.
They say that there are more locations listed than what they need done, so people will do the easy ones and they will skip the rest.
I don't know if you guys are seeing this one: Not the debit card project. Looks like a smoke / CBD / vape shop. 8 to 10 photos. INside the store, IN secret, IN landscape mode! INcluding the overall interior from several angles. $10. Nah, nobody will notice you! Sounds like a good way to get arrested.

Everything I've been getting for the most part is over the $7 and I've been getting reimbursed up to that amount. I'm not interested in ordering just a small side or a drink in a sit down restaurant.

I've done 15 of them so far. 14 restaurants and 1 tobacco/vape shop. Mine aren't high end restaurants. I think I've only see 1 or 2.

Saw these this morning. I don't do vape shops as I don't want to support these kind of shops, but even if I did vape shops this would be a hard pass.

There are hundreds of shops available in my area. I haven't done any. Most aren't high end, but it'd be difficult to find items under $7 which aren't sodas or an order of rolls at most of these places.

Out of the 15 I've done I've only been able to find stuff under the $7 that I actually wanted at 3 of them. On the other ones I just ordered what I wanted, because I'm not going to order a drink or just a small side at a sit down restaurant 2x, and just paid the difference myself. I was fine with the $7 reimbursement. It's allowed me to actually try some local restaurants I've been wanting to try and some I didn't even know existed.

I've done around 5 of these. The locations that accept both cash and card are fine and easily done especially if its easy to go back through the line a second time. For locations that dont accept cash, I would skip it. They count that as a "failed" shop and you only get $2. I went back and forth with the editor on a tricky one and then I saw the approval amount was so low. There's nothing in the guidelines that state card only locations are going to not pay at least half of the full amount so they are being deceiving.
