Medicare shops- in home or public place paying $30

There are Medicare agent shops posted- they pay $2 for the phone call to set appt. then $28 for the actual shop which involves a full explanation of Medicare plans- which I am sure can be lengthy! . Not sure they are worth it as the agents feel they are going to make a sale and can be long winded based on previous ones I did in the past for other companies. Considering taking one but then thinking perhaps they will be bonused n the future making them more lucrative. Any comments?

According to my log, I completed my first Medicare Advantage shop 18 yrs. ago and was paid $55+ mileage. I would guess the presentation, report and drive time at 2 1/2 hrs. Even bottom paying Trendsource paid me $45 for one in 2010 an approx. 3 mile round trip from my house.
