Smartglasses - Follow up

This is a follow up discussion to the thread from below link
[www.mysteryshopforum.com]

So I have decided to bait the bullet and got myself a pair of smart glasses, the exact model being the Even Realities G2. It does not have cameras and function more like a productivity type instead of entertainment type. And this is how I feel about the glasses

This is what works:
I am able to transfer some of the things from paper to digital, like my route and my assistance notes. Instead of typing them out and print them on paper, I now store them on a cellphone app and have them display on the glasses whenever I needed. Do I really need a glasses to do that? Probably not, you can do that with a cellphone too I guess, but it is much better and easier when you are driving or doing other things when taking out your phone is not a good options.

What is amazing!
Teleprompt! The glasses accept pdf import for teleprompt. What that mean is that I can now import job guidelines into the app and have it display in front of me anytime I needed without printing out stacks of paperwork or taking out my phones! Whenever I may have some uncertainties I just turn on my teleprompt and load up the guidelines and I have the whole "rulebooks" ready. I just need to scroll and find the part that I need. This is pretty continence at times, and it certainly save my butt a few times without feeling all awkward. Sometimes I would also be pre-storing some banking questions or "little cheat sheet" in case the job require me to ask questions, or keynotes that required me to check . It is floating in front of my eye at all time so I won't forget anything.

What has not been working yet
I tried saving the whole survey by saving the whole "questions in printable format" in pdf format and upload it in teleprompt. Problem is file size is too big and the app isn't accepting it. Also the glasses still require all time bluetooth connection with the glasses which means once in a while if I keep my phone off or away far too long it would disconnect and may not function very well. Also the price is on a premium side, but considering that I should be able to get it written off by the end of the year it could still be something cool to play with.

Thanks for the update. So, when reading those guidelines or cheat sheet items, while onsite or if you were driving, as you mentioned...Is this a comfortable view? Not a distraction or creating any eye strain later on?
you mentioned you scroll...can you describe how that works? what are you touching to make that happen?
What do the lenses look like? clear like regular glasses or more like sunglasses?
can others around you tell you reading on the lens? just wondering about reading, walking and bumping into things....

PS, the other day I was discussing tech with a guy here who told me he uses similar glasses to help guide him in remote areas where he hikes here in the desert.

I thought that could be some good stuff

Life was passing like a hand waving from a train I wanted to be on

So there are many different types of smartglasses on the market, so it really depends on which one you get. I can only speak for the one that I get. For Even Realities G2(I think it would be similar for Rokid, based on the videos and pictures that I see), I would have a mono Green display floating in front of my eye, slightly up. If I am sitting in the car, it would be somewhere in the windshield area, meaning it is there, but it would not be overlaying what you are seeing in front of you (Yes, you will have to look up a bit, but it is adjustable via the app). There is a person who uses the teleprompt feature of the glasses and hosts a full 30 minutes of sermon.

There's 2 way to control the G2(my glasses). The default way is to use the touchpad located at the end of the temple. If you use it, you will have to keep your hand behind your ear at all times. The other way is by purchasing an accessory, which is a ring with a touch sensor on it. That allows you to control the glasses display in a much more discreet way. The ring also featured as a health tracker itself.

The lenses are clear, designed to be like a regular pair of glasses to me, and I can purchase a pair of sunclip and turn it into sunglasses if needed. Most of the time other should not be able to see what I am reading, but tech is tech at certain angle in very close sitance leak would still happened so people would definitely be seeing some green text for my glasses, also in low light environment, if I turn my display to max brightness, ppl would defintely see a huge green light glowing as well.

Some other brands would have a worse issue with the green light leaking issue so I would suggest a detailed study/research before you purchase if you are to buy one for SS purposes.

Yes some glasses, including mine, has navigate feature that would display directions/minimap on the display when you walk/cycling, and that is super neat.

Yes this is very cool! I was also considering Meta Rayban or Rokid for the camera option but decided for the non camera ones due to battery life, how heavy they are, and how obvious they are smart glasses to others. But I must admit they are useful in many situations.
Thanks to all for all those details. Very helpful!
