Boars Head

The latest round of Boars Head shops was just released, and they are only paying $5! The last round paid $15, prior to that it was $9. I don't understand the fluctuation in these prices.

Here's what I see today: "$5 pay, plus a $2 bonus if there is a fresh slice section, a $2 bonus if there is a grab and go section and up to $5 reimbursement"

I'm not even sure I would sign up for one even if I'm doing shopping (mystery or not) at Kroger to begin with.
Yes, they keep getting lower on their fees with everything. These will just sit for a while. end of March I was getting $20 plus the extra $2 for grab and go. I mean they must see the pattern. But as with everything, they are hoping to get rid of as many as they can with the lower fees to save in the long run. I don't mind doing these whenthe price increases. I try to pair them with the other pricing jobs and make it worth the trip. Guess I won't be doing any more of these until the end of the quarter.
The lower pay with more extra thigs to do. I picked one yesterday becase I was closeby. But I will not get more.

I've never been tempted by these at all, but just to satisfy my curiosity, are they as conspicuous and easy to mess up as they sound? The stores I frequent are far too busy to pull off the photos.
After you've done a few of them, they get easier. I have had their date/timestamp camera app not display the date/time stamp, and gotten dinged for it.

I don't do them if I can't stack them with other shops at the same location.

I don't find them difficult but there is no way to do the thing without possibly looking like an idiot so you have to be OK with that.

I won't do them at base pay. Even if I am at the store already. It's not enough for the time and effort it takes and I don't value the product at the price that's charged.
I love a good ham sandwich or use it to make various other things like omelets or Chicken Cordon Bleu, but I still have half a huge ham in my fridge from Easter...I'm Hammed Out for awhile and I don't like deli chicken. I'll do them when I'm in the mood for some good ham and will be in or near the store....and when they raise the fee.

Cheap pay means cheap effort on my end. They get what they pay for. $5 will get a glowing review for the employee and some free treat meat for my cat.

Gene, I think being discrete is the source of everyone's issue with these. Like when you have to raise your phone above the top of the service counter to snap a quick pic of a dirty slicer and/or scale
Antipopbritt, I would leave that out of your MSPA keynote speech.
not wasting my time on these anymore. low pay, bound to be rejected or get a smart ass review. the spicy chicken was a nice snack to have tho
that is challenging. But How you get the full display (including cheeese) shot when people blocking your camera? Shall I tell them "get out I will make a shot?"

That takes a bit of patience. Sometimes I have to take 2 pics to get the whole service counter when it is too wide for one shot.
I have spent a considerable amount of time trying to take the deli case photos without customers or associates. I just can't spend the time for $5. I am reluctant to eat the meat after last year's recall so that is not an incentive either. If the price increased, that would be a much better reason to spend the time trying to get clear photos.

I'm a convenient vegetarian. I don't buy meat at the store. If I did, I'd prolly pick up some of these shops, and I'd hate myself for doing so.

You can take multiple pictures, up to 3. I usually just take what I can, get in line, order the meat and then the other sections get cleared. The slicer images are much more difficult though. They are often low behind the counter but I have gotten a few when they turned around. You just have to be ready.
We eat the lunchmeat, but they are way too much of a pain with picky editing for $5.
For me, there is no waiting for more money at the end of the month, since I will only do these when they are stacked with another shop.
That is from the last shop I did:

"Your report is being accepted as a one-time courtesy. Future reports require you to capture photos of the full deli case, front-facing and unobstructed."

I am sure that is the LAST my shop for Boars Head.

You do not need to take a photo of the slicer. Just the counter, the middle display, and the slices display. Only if there is an issue with the slicer. Ihave done hundrends of them when they are heavily bonused and Im in the area or the store for something else.

Yes, but if the slicer is dirty, you do need a pic.
If the slicer is dirty, you would have to put a gun to my head to make me eat the ham they just cut.

I look at the slicer first.

I'd suggest walking to the deli, ordering the equally-good store brand of ham, save your $5 that way and save an hour of headache trying to take awkward pictures with a wonky app and then a zillion follow up questions.

I love working with this MSC on any project except this one. I think Boar's Head is using their own editors or something unusual here, because the editing comments are so off-brand for this MSC.

My cat won’t touch the stuff lol…
