Is an Iohone 6 Enough

I may be getting an I phone 6 for doing some mystery shops because they require you to use anIOS. Or do i need to get a higher model. If i need a higher model what is the minimum requirement?

Not including the SE models and/or similar, and the variations of each new one released yearly, there have been 10 newer "numbered" models released since the 6, plus the "air." So, I would not recommend a 6, due to all the enhancements since the release of the 6.
Some of the apps I needed for shopping wouldn't work on anything older than an 8. I had a 7, and had to upgrade since apps like The Source and my banking app would not work on anything less than an 8.
I only know of one company that requires an I Phone. If there are a limited number of your msc that have this requirement I would call them and ask. Personally I use an android but for that one company I checked it out with them. For that one company they required a phone that could download the latest version of the Teams app and also screen share.
I would say as long as the phone takes decent pictures and you can use the MSC's app, use what you have, especially if you can't afford a newer one.

But I have found that using an older or cheaper phone will cause more problems and stress. The newer models work better on apps, the pictures are way better, the camera works faster and focuses easier, etc. But you use what you can afford until you can afford something better.

I've never had an MSC require me to use a certain type of phone. I have used iPhones, Samsung, and others and never had an issue with a company.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
These are not used for MSC apps but to test websites. I have an oppo clone for MSC apps. The camera is far superior to apple and the battery charging is faster.
Do not get I phone 6. I had one until about 2 months ago when T Mobile offered my household 4 Iphone 17 with a new phone plan. What I now have is very basic but it holds a charge longer and recharges faster. I have no idea if the camera is sharper. Also transmitting 98 photos at a time to a certain MSC takes 2.5 minutes instead of 10 or longer. The I phone 6 was not able to host certain apps. Excuse my wordage as I am very low tech.
I'm surprised you can even find an iPhone 6. They were end of sale/discontinued in 2018. And...

As of March 2026, Apple has officially declared all models up to and including the iPhone X obsolete: original iPhone, 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S, 5 (added March 16, 2026), 5C, 5S, 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, SE (1st generation), 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X. These models can no longer be repaired or updated by Apple

So sounds like you'd be buying a brick at this point.

If you are looking for an inexpensive option that will not have a cellular plan tied to it, try Ebay for an iPhone 10 or newer and just use it with WIFI. There are tons listed for less than $100.
