The $40 reimbursement barely covers the two entrees. Appetizer/tax/tip will put shoppers way over sad smiley
You are not forced to take the shop. You know what you are getting into by agreeing to do it. I understand you would like a better reimbursement and so would I, but if you would spend $60 to go here and feed 2 people and only come out of pocket for $20, then that seems reasonable enough to me. I don't need alcohol, so I will do my best to get it as close to $40 as possible.

I'm not a fan of OG, but if they gonna pay for $40 of the meal and my wife likes the place, then I don't mind trying it out. The report does not appear to be that bad.

I did an online order just to see what the cost of the items would be here in Southern California. With a 15% tax, the 2 entrees and the dipping sauce appetizer, it would be $61.42.

The entrees are large enough that we will get more than 1 meal out of it, so spending $21.42 out of pocket isn't that bad in my opinion. I'm willing to give it a try and apparently many others were too as the self-assign flew off the board.
I didn't see any assignments in my area, but I also did a price check on the menus, in anticipation. This probably qualifies as the lowest reimbursement per cost incurred to cover the requirements that I've ever seen. I like Olive Garden just fine. However, there are several significantly better Italian restaurants in our area. Even with the shop fee added, and ordering the cheapest option of every required item, I don't see half a chance of coming anywhere close to breaking even on this one. I might (as in maybe) consider it for a more upscale Italian restaurant, but probably not for OG. The one in our area is just not that great to warrant both the work involved and that much out of pocket. The listed reimbursement actually comes closer to what would be expected with their lunch prices, and I wondered if there was some kind of disconnect with it all, as in somebody looking at something wrong when they wrote it all up.

I heard they will be sending more out this week. That was just the weekNIGHT dinner scenario
How specific are the shops with menu wording? The exact wording of the dipping sauce appetizer on the guidelines vs the menu are not *exactly* the same, but it seems like the correct appetizer to me.
There is only 1 appetizer that fits the description if you are talking about the "endless dipping sauce." My guest liked the alfredo one. I preferred the 5 cheese sauce.
Thanks, hbbigdaddy!

Our local menu did not include "endless" in the name. It's just called "Dipping Sauces Includes Breadsticks" so I wasn't sure if that would cause any issues. Thank you for the recommendation, I'll try the 5 cheese.
Because it's "endless" you can try all 3. I just did not bother with the marinara. Went with 5 cheese and alfredo. Don't get your hopes up. It's just okay. This isn't high-quality Italian food.
I understand the argument in favor, but this sets a bad precedent, particularly given inflation.
