Does anyone know some good deals on ink?? I think thats where alot of my money goes lol....

I buy an ink kit at Staples and refill the cartridges myself. It's very easy and usually, not messy.

I got a Kodak All-in-one printer/scanner because black cartridges are $10 and go on sale sometimes at Best Buy. I also will pick up a Best Buy shop and make that my purchase to keep a ready supply.

More importantly, I print as little as possible. I read instructions online and print what I NEED instead of everything they tell me to. I can familiarize myself with the entire shop, program info into my phone that i need to get there or call and I save my ink for what takes too much time to write down. Sometimes you have to print to get a certification code, but I still only print what I have to.

If there's a Cartridge World near you, they will take your old cartridges and sell refilled ones. You can also just buy cartridges from them - they're much less expensive, and they last longer; they put more ink in than the original manufacturer does. I like the idea of fewer cartridges going to the landfill!

i agree ... it seems many shops feel you need to print every little thing they say... bah... i use scratch paper and a pen... usually their "pages" can be summed up pretty succinctly... the average american is pretty dumb but some of these instruction make me feel like the company is missing a few grey cells as well...

Sure it's not their $ going down the drain for a $10 shop. Be your own boss

with me its just a bit repetitive...
1. outside cleanliness
2. inside cleanliness
3. bathroom
4. walk by someone and see if you are greeted
5. speed of service
6. check out

if there is something special i write it down.. i am at the point where i dont need to write anything down.. i just get a receipt and write the names of the people on the back... fill out the form... upload the receipt... feed my spare tire...repeat

Costco flier just arrived with an "online only special," for a monochrome laser printer that is $99 after the rebate. Check out costco's web site and say, bye bye to ink and hello to saving a ton of money by switching from ink jet to true laser, with toner.

Had to dig up this thread because I just ordered ink. www.123inkjets.com has a great special today -- free shipping and 10% off if you enter the code RAIN when checking out. AND, if you go in through your ebates account, it's currently 16% cash back. I ordered two color cartridges for my HP, and the whole thing came out to under $9.00. These are refurbished cartridges, and I have NEVER had a problem with anything I've ordered through the site. You can look up compatibility by searching for your brand and model number or series. (Still a great deal without accessing it through ebates, but why not get the 16% cash back as well?)

yeah... ink is way over priced has always been and always will be... i never buy anything but generic cartridges...

i have found the manufacturers ones run out faster... they just stop printing when they are low.. they dont print until out... and theres not difference in the ink quality... mainly because china is best at reverse engineering...

i used to have this site that would give twenty one percent cash back... but deal sucker stopped that... i will look into the ebates now that you mention it...

I used to refill my ink all the time. For some reason, on the newer printers, the cartridges won't accept more than one or two refills (if that) before they fail. I think they are designing the newer cartridges like that, so you are forced to buy new ones. Also, has anyone else noticed how much smaller the ink cartridges have gotten over the years?

I've never gone the refill them yourself route -- I've heard a lot of stories from people who have had problems. I find the compatible or refurbished cartridges to very cost-effective (especially when there's a good deal going on!). Besides using ebates, I always check www.retailmenot.com to see if there's a coupon code I can use in conjunction with the cash back.

according to the "computer america show" on bloomberg news printers are sold at a loss to get customers to buy ink... they are making money hand over fist i do believe
