E-Mail Scams Galore

It seems like up to a year ago I would get the occasional e-mail from a foreign business man wanting me to help him transfer some money and usually I would get a little chuckle out of the bad english and then delete, no big deal. I was cleaning out my spam folder today and counted 10 different e-mail scams that have come into my account just in the last 24 hrs. I actually was late on a bill I forgot about because I just assumed the e-mail reminders were a scam as I get so many e-mails from banks most of which I don't have accounts at to use their link to sign into my account. This is getting out of hand and sadly I know I wouldn't be getting all of these if there aren't people out there falling for them. So how do you deal with scam e-mails, do you delete them or do you go through the time to forward them to someone and who?

according to npr in 2007 scams were up to peoples eyeballs... so the feds decided to stop going after the companies or people who did the scams... and started going after the banks that allowed funding to go through or allowed the businesses to purchase ads from spamming companies...

this really took down the spammers and scammers... i am assuming now they have found alternate means to do these and its gradually on the uptick...

either that or because of the European debt crisis more banks are willing to get money by any means possible..

I can usually tell the ones that come from Nigeria and give them an answer they'll never forget, in their own language. My husband was there for some time while in the Peace Corps and is still fluent in several of the languages. After giving them a verbal enema I then put them into the "blocked sender" category and forget about them.

LOL Cettie, I was going to ask if you ever got a response but I guess you would never know. I tried that one time and I think they got mad and sold my e-mail address because I started to get tons of spam after that.

Sadly I don't get those type of e-mail scams as much, for me its mostly the fake bank or paypal e-mails wanting me to use their link to login and verify my account.

I delete most of them. There are a few that get forwarded just because I know where to send them. I've sent several to a contact at Market Force. I also pass along the ones using Yahoo and PayPal. Other than that, if I have a minute and need a chuckle I might read them. To me it is very bizarre that I get all these e-mails telling me I can get a hot Russian wife and discounts for Viagra, etc. My e-mail is my full name so I guess they don't Lisa is not a man's namewinking smiley

i just ignore them... they are sent from different emails each time... so its worthless to add to spam... and well they get thousands probably so the effort is not worth it...

most countries have very soft international laws... if any...
