Burn out

Driving home from my Pretzel shop I got a major burnout....I want to retire and hang up the whole ms thing. I'm so bloody tired of driving, writing a 1500
word report for a Pretzel and the whole migela.....think I'll sleep in tomorrow
and not schedule anything else next week, I don't wanna work.

OK, Irene, here's what you do to fix this MS burnout business. Get yourself a regular job so you have someone to tell you where to be, what to wear, what to do, how to do it, what you did wrong and how you need to improve, when to go home, and what time to be back in the morning. Please be sure to let me know when you're feeling better. XXO / your MS buddy / Mary

Mary, you are such a bomb....had a good laugh and no, won't be doing interviews anytime soon.....as my Therapist daughter would tell me, you
have three days to get off the pitypot!!!!

Irene
p.s. when do we get to retire?????????

Irene - We may never get to retire. I'm beginning to think it's not for everyone even if they can afford it. I tried to quit working five times and I'm not good at it. This was a tremendous shock, because I always believed I was smart as a whip as well as gorgeous. (Mama told me I was a plain girl but she was just jealous.) Nevertheless, I have been a complete failure as a retiree. I was never able to get the gears suitably adjusted on my rocking chair. Besides that, I like to work some so I have crazy money besides my regular money. Regular money is great stuff, but don't you agree crazy money is more fun? I'm sure if you rest for a day or so you'll be back on the road and after those pretzels full speed. We all get a little down now and then, and I've found that wine out of a Mason jar works real well to smooth out the rough spots. You should give it a go, but please don't get on the road after the pretzels while you're working on the Mason jar.

Well, I'd rather get 20$ for a pretzel than have to take care of a rich old
decrepted man...so, yes, tomorrow will be a rest pool day, and I'll get back
on the slow boat to msing......but, I'd rather be planning a trip to Bora Bora
and watch those gorgeous beach boys....smiling smiley I'm thinking big, but living small.

Hey Irene !

I too understand burn out. I'm currently taking a break from any "work like" mystery shops and only doing dining and movie shops! smiling smiley lol. My route of shops on a road trip did me in :-D

I have a full time job and use shopping as extra money, but there was a time when it was my only job.

Anyone that can keep it up for any length of time is my hero! Sometimes you just need a break from the reports!

Bora Bora sounds great, take a cruise shop... .JK!! lol.
@Irene I would go down to Venice Beach, take a dip for about an hour, then go to the Starbucks at the end of Washington Blvd and just chill out, watch folks pump iron on the beach, and just listening to the sound of the sea.

Then start the report 3 hours later. smiling smiley
I'm feeling the same way about now. I've put so many miles on my car from this, and made so little money. Bills need to be paid, and right now this is my only source of income. I only have 1 shop left this month...which sucks. I'm dragging my feet now.

Maybe a few days off will rejuvenate us. smiling smiley
Venice beach and actually putting on a bathing suit for a dip....Eric you silly guy....NOT!!
The water always helps, looking at it is relaxing, and a mini vacation, I do
that often but always end up taking a couple jobs to make it "worthwhile".
I love the new Santa Monica mall since they remodleded, great restaurants and
coffee places with a great view of the ocean......I'm on my way!!

@Irene But your in SoCal! Who needs a bathing suit when you can just go buck naked? Lol.
Haha, silly you, not even when I was 20 with a great figure, but it makes good read!!

I think the liberal attitude here is mostly political. You can't even smoke on most beaches, much less skinny-dip ;^)
That's the reputation L.A. has, (liberal), my Starbucks just posted no smoking outside, will get fined....can't wear flip flops in the local yogurt place, so
no skinny dipping, will remain in your home, in your private pool, thank g__!

Ahhhh Irene...drive down to San Diego to the Gas Light district. Get some good food, visit the beach for a nice walk, take the trolley around town do some shopping, maybe run over to Mission Beach to the amusement park. Go out to the Wild Animal Park (safari vacation) smiling smiley

Gosh I miss LA and San Diego. sad smiley I would so move back to Vista in a heartbeat...well maybe not exactly Vista, but around there somewhere...
I am not burned out, but I gotta tell ya that 6 days on the road, being lied to by car salesmen (yes, all happened to be men), even when they lie in a charming southern accent, plus not much good food, plus two out of 4 hotels being under extensive and very loud and dusty renovation, is making me tired and cranky. Only 3 more days to go.

Travel tip for the week: do not order Mexican food in NC, where people seem to think that ketchup is pretty spicy!

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
L.A. has it all, I agree.....My day of relaxation is Santa Barbara (2hrs. from me), gorgeous beach, art, great food. Being a senior I'm done with zoo's or
amusement parks (been there, done that). Thinking of going next week, as I have a free Starwood hotel night and there is a nice one on the beach in Ventura, but, thanks for the suggestion, used to go to SD all the time, fun city. Problem is, although this is a great breather, still have to come back
to the same ole, same ole. Waiting for this to get better in pay and all, seems to be getting so much worse. Maybe I'm spoiled, or feeling I should be.
Couldn't or wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

I keep saying I am going to take a week off and keep clicking on the apply button. It is addictive.
O so wanted to go on one of those video routes Wales. Tired of route retirement!
