My 50-something cousin probably has this butwas never diagnosed as a child. Another shopper friend who does not frequent this forum has a son and a former husband who both have it.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
My granddaughter was diagnosed with high functioning Asperger's. Sometimes it is difficult to diagnose but when the doctor told me some of the symptoms I was astounded that so many symptoms fit her.
Spygirl do you have this in your family?

shopping Ohio and PA
I do not but have read a lot. I would be interested to know what kinds of issues related to this get in your way. Any troubles w/ the mystery shopping?
Got a friend with a son that has PDD...sensory issues and cannot take any type of change. His is 4, just potty trained last week. She bought him and ipad. He loves it, there are many, many Autism apps out there for the ipad. She has done a ton of research and found that pictures help control the meltdowns from the PDD. Pictures help him know what to expect. She even potty trained him with pictures.

There is so much stuff out there, from gluten free diets, to books, ipad apps and so on. That Jenny McCarthy has a book out about it and how she overcame it with a gluten free diet for her son.
For anyone interested, Temple Grandin was an excellent movie about a real-life woman with autism who changed the cattle industry to be more humane during the slaughter. Claire Danes did an excellent job playing her.

Love Temple Grandin. Thanks for reminding me to try to find the movie. She has books, too.
I saw the movie - it was so excellent, I went to the library and read about 5 or 6 of her books. I'd never heard of her before, but she's amazing. She was also featured on a miniseries about savants.
I am an undiagnosed 50-something.
My 27yo son has Asperger's Syndrome with a mild Tourrette's Syndrome kick.
He was born with a developmental delay.
In his Apgar, he had poor muscle tone.
He has pronated ankles, flat feet, and was born with a wee extra thumb which they called a 'tag'.
They snipped it off before I could get the anaesthetic-filled soother in J's mouth.
He screamed for an hour - the wee thumb had a tiny nail, cartilage and everything.
Boy, I was so mad, I raged up and down that s-o-b doctor until J' fell asleep.
J' still has the little scar, which I've always told him is a 'gift from God'.
When he sees it, he remembers how special he (and He) is.

ASD kids of my generation grew up with the stigma of being any combination of 'obnoxious, cranky, cheeky, unruly, obstinate, stubborn, lazy, spoiled etc'.
Depression is a big part of who we are because of having to grow up/live in a world of constant unacceptance.

Spygirl:
By undiagnosed, do you mean you think you are somewhere in the spectrum but never actually diagnosed? Probably a lot of people. How does it effect your work? Are you taking any meds for depression or would consider it? Obviously, these are very personal questions and you do not need to answer them on this rather public forum. I feel so bad about your childhood and I can see that it continues to have an impact. How is your son doing? Feel free to PM
