So yesterday was my 50th birthday. *still tossing confetti*
My brother is 22 months younger than me, so for 2 months we are only a year apart. He just loves to rub it in. Well, I gotta say, when my brother turned 30 back in 94, I decided paybacks would be fun. I cut sytrofoam into 8" x 5" rectangles, spray painted them black, picked up some fake black flowers, painted a black cross - and mailed it to my mom along with 30 dollars in coins and of course that "penny to grow on". My mom assembled it into the coffin and poured some kitty litter in before tossing the coins in it. So of course my brother thought it was hilarious.
For his 45, I bought one of those cards that when you open up plays sounds - the card he got opened up to the sound of fire engines!
Now.. after all those tangents.. here's setting you up for the one from him...
He painstakingly carved out of balsa wood FIFTY - yes, 5-0 - 3" COFFINS, numbered them all, put silly sayings on each one (ie: on #49 he wrote "YOU WISH"
- and glued them shut with a $1.00 in each one.
I'm sitting here cracking up it's just too cute. I don't want to take apart the coffins!
I should save it all packed up and then mail it back to him on his 50th in May 2014!!!
Has anyone ever done anything like this to you for your Bday?
PS: Oh - my mom? She's 71, she wrote me a letter saying how much she wished she could be here in AZ to celebrate. THEN, she says, "Remember, I was there on July 18th, 1961."
OMG.. MOTHER! You wrote the wrong year! LMAO!
