Who else loves Top Ramen?

My friends make fun of me because I eat Ramen SOOO much.

I declined a dinner reservation for tonight, and my buddy said "OK, I'll come over there and bring the Top Ramen instead." Am just I that Ramen (freakin) crazy?

Any fancy Ramen recipes to share?

I like to break crush the Ramen noodles and sprinkle it on salad. If I'm having fish, I like to put bake the fish on a bed of already cooked Ramen Noodles.

I just like the Ramen by itself the regular way to eat it. But I think that is because I lived in Japan for two years and it was my staple meal when I ate at home...I only like Top brand Ramen and the Original flavor. Years ago before I married my boy scout type husband who goes camping with a 1000 pound back pack, I would go hiking/camping for a week and bring only a small pot and 7 Ramens. For lunch and breakfast I snacked on gorp. I also used to break a raw egg into it when it was done cooking and let the egg slightly cook while it was very hot. It is great if you add chinese cabbage while cooking the water and eat with the red pickled ginger slivers.
But your recipes sound much more upscale than yours.

I miss ramen. I loved it and the cup of noodles. I am weird because I would put popcorn in the bowl of ramen.

I cook it al dente and then add chopped fresh tomatoes, fresh basil and parmesan. Yum.

Top Ramen is better than Maruchan, but there are many better brands of ramen. Unfortunately, those are usually available only in Asian stores and supermarkets.

Cook the ramen in clear water or in water with just veggies. Don't add the soup powder in first.

To get a more al dente texture, cook the ramen in boiling water quickly and then give it an ice/ice water bath.

Cook the noodles separately from the other goodies (meat, veggies, eggs, and such).

I love sprinkling a large amount of raw, chopped green onions on top after all else is done.

We have a large Asian community in my city, and I love the tiny ramen and pho restaurants in the strip malls nearby. Yummmmmm.

I always have a packet or two of ramen and some takeout packets of sriracha in my emergency driving kit, along with a sleeping bag, matches, and a copy of Lord of the Rings. If I got snowed in on a back road somewhere, I'd be cozy and reading away.

Ah so, Sapporo Ichi Ban! That is my favorite and not Top Ramen..it has been so long that I have been shopping in the regular supers that I forgot...tomorrow a trip to Mitsuya.

ramen noodles...

i enjoy adding a 1/3 cup of cheese and a full can of veggies ... perhaps some meat... to make sure to get the maximum nutrition i boil both the can of veggies and pasta and then drain it so the noodles have a chance to absorb the nutrients that are lost by canning

i only use half the sauce packet per ramen because i like to drain the water totally before eating and the whole pack is too salty

i eat to late at night to cook... so fastfood... and the pasta days are a distant happy memory

One of my favorite things to add to Top Ramen is thinly sliced radishes. The thinner you can slice them the better.
