Powerball

Okay, Powerball is up to a half a billion dollars. I have two questions for everyone.

1. Are you buying a ticket?
2. If you win will you give up mystery shopping or just hold out for higher paying shops?grinning smiley

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

I'm going to buy a few tickets and if I win I will probably not do MSing for a while. But sooner or later I'll get bored and will probably end up doing something, not necessarily MSing. Maybe set up a charity?
I think I will but a ticket, if I remember to. I don't play too often (1-2 times a year) and only when I hear of these crazy jackpots.

As for mystery shopping, I would just be very selective of the shops I take....lol! I would finally be able to make a living at mystery shopping with that kind of money in my savings.
LisaSTL - you did not answer the questions???????
1. Yes, if I ever get my butt out of the house today.

2. No way, Jose. I couldn't take a job away from someone who needs it just to alleviate boredom. If filling my time became necessary it would most likely be with starting a new business and hiring some folks.

Me too. I would be playing for sure.

I consider most of my high-end resort shops to be research on how to best spend my winnings if I were to ever come into a windfall like the lottery.

I would still keep my career going if I won something like that, but as far as shopping goes...no way! It would be hard to follow through on just completing the assignments I had scheduled.
As much as I love this, I'd have to bail out on shopping if I won a windfall but I know I'd still lurk around the forum watching what's going on. I can't give up free entertainment of this quality no matter how rich I might become.

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.
With the 300+ million I would have before taxes, I would set me grandchildren up so they would have a future that was financially stable. I would give my children about one million dollars a piece. My brothers and sisters would get 1/2 million a piece. I would take 3 million and divide it among 150 different charities. And give 1.5 million to the country of Haiti to use to build home and medical facilites. 1.5 million will go to rebuild New Orleans that is still struggling with Katrina and 1.5 million to have the New York and Jersey citizens to rebuild from Superstorm Sandy. and the rest I would just hand out here and there after putting about 50 million in about 10 different banks. (FDIC limits)

No, didn't buy. I don't like the odds.

If I bought and won, I'd still MS, unless I found something else worthwhile that kept me busy, contributing, and up to date with trends and technology.
Lisa: Are you the Missouri winner and holding out on us? If you are please remember how much I have always liked and respected you. No really.smiling smiley
If it had been me there wouldn't have been a press conference 36 hours after the drawing. I could count the number of people on one hand who would even know right now and two of those would be a tax accountant and attorneysmiling smiley In fact, I learned that Missouri is one of the states where you can remain anonymous by creating a blind trust. Better than having previously unknown "relatives" coming out of the woodwork.

I would buy MarketForce and then go all Bain Capital on its assets... sell everything down to their Philippine phone bank on eBay.
Love it Missy. And I would at least send all the schedulers who are understanding and competent a liittle bonus.
1. no I think it is a waste of money because the chances of winning are so small. no skill in the gambling. poker face does not help

2. see 1. but if something happened and I got a winfall, I would buy that restaurant building I have been looking at closed for a long time and reopen it--franchising it with a different franchise.
so just like Lisa I would buy a business and hire some folks

I agree Kat. Technically it is a waste of money. However for a couple dollars here and there you can dream a bit. Priceless.
My Grandmother did get four numbers and won a hundred bucks. Not a bad return on her six dollars.
