Maui Wowie

I have had great luck in my business career. Today is the last day of a five day business trip to Maui. I am staying at the Fairmont KEa Lani resort in Wailea. I know that this hotel is mystery shopped. Sadly I could not fit in that Mistry shop in my business trip. I am not saying this to make you jealous. I am highly recommending that you take the opportunity to mystery shop this location. The shop is a two night stay. All meals and expenses are reimbursed. The resort is fantastic and literally a paradise. Of course there are likely better locations around the world or in Hawaii. But this one, which is shopped, should be on your radar if you like this kind of adventure. You would also be able to fit in other shops during a stay here. My guess is that you might be able to break even on a trip.

Flight out here might cost a little bit, but holy cow two nights at this resort and any other nights you tag on would be worth it.

And before you ask, I will not name the MSC.

Aloha

I have to say I am a bit jealous that you got to stay in the Fairmont Kea Lani for a business trip. On my infrequent business trips, I have stayed in places at least a notch below that.

I haven't stayed in the Wailea area since my daughter was born, guess because I had a trip that turned me off to that area. Did the area seem over-crowded? Have any good food recommendations from the area?

I did some snorkeling at one of the beaches in the area as part of a shop at another Maui resort this year and loved the beach so I'm probably due for a trip to the area one of these years. I haven't seen the Fairmont shopped by any of the companies I'm signed up for, but I'm always signing up for new companies here and there so maybe I'll find it.

Wouldn't ask you to. But is the MSC listed on this site's Official List of MS Companies?

Edited to add: Never mind. Pretty sure you're talking about an MSC that doesn't even cover the entire hotel cost. Not really my cup of tea. But I've heard from others as well that the resort is great.

My company has a once a year national event, usually at a large convention centre. This year was a big anniversary and as such went all out. My usual business trips see me at the local Holiday Inn...a few steps down : )

We went at low season (September) so the resort was not crowded at all. I didn't have time to meander around town. For the quick shopping trip I went on, the mall was not crowded; but the ABC store sure was! I did see shopping opportunities all around me, though. Lots of stores that get shopped. I wish I had an extra couple of days to do the resort shop and stores. I could have made a profit on the trip!

It sure is.
