There are lots of good deals right now. A $49 Android is pretty much everyday. Not a bad deal, probably worth the $49. Fry's has a bunch of similar Android tablets for $45 and $49. The 3.5 hours run time between charging would make me decide no to this particular one. Not long enough if you are out and about.

Right now Amazon.com has a 7 inch Fire tablet for $49.99. Or, a special deal is $34.99 if you take "Fire, 7" Display, Wi-Fi, 8 GB - Includes Special Offers, Black " Bigger Fires are $69 and $149. The Fire offers 7 hours run time.
The one that you listed would not have enough memory for me (only 8 GB!) and the camera at only 2 MP would not be good enough for most MSC's (except Maritz). There would be no pizza shops with this!

Seriously, my phone (Samsung Galaxy Mega 2) is old by phone standards and would be better than the tablet. I was told by the MSC doing the humongous electronic big box store audit that I could use my phone if I wanted for the audit as the screen is 6 inches (just about as big as a tablet anyway) and has the 4G LTE connection and works great for the cell phone revealed audits using Sassie Rover. The only thing with it is that the battery would not last long enough to do the big box audit. I have thought about getting some external high powered chargers from Amazon and taking a couple of the audits.

I would say if you are eligible for a phone upgrade to just get a smartphone with a large screen (at least 6 inches) and using it for both phone and tablet. That way you only have the one device to keep track of.

Thank You So Much Austin Mom and lbw1000. My phone, Samsung Galaxy 4 (AT&T), has been freezing up and lagging. I googled a few fixes and tried them but they haven't worked. Next, is a trip to the ATT Store.

BB - have you see the AT&T customer-only shops? You have to buy a phone or add a line or something a customer would do. They are up to $125 here.
About the old Galaxy 4, you might be able to squeak it by for a little bit more by cleaning out old pictures. Also, go to the My Files (will be listed as an app) and looking through your apps that take pictures for shops. Clean out the old ones that you no longer need for any app such as Easy Shift, Gigwalk, Field Agent, Sassie Rover, Ground Control, MobiAudit and any other app that you take pictures within the app. It will keep those pictures on your phone in its own section away from your camera (and they take up memory too!). After you get done cleaning out the old stuff, then take the back off and take the battery out (while the phone is still on so the pulling of the battery turns it off). Leave it out for a minute or so then put it back in and let it boot up.

Your provider might have a deal for you on tablets. If you are going to use them while out and about mystery shopping, you will want it to have a data plan and not just be wifi only. I got one for free when I upgraded my phone, just had to set up an additional line with $10 a month data plan. This just so happened around the time when I started mystery shopping about a month ago and it's been very useful. I've been able to start some reports on the tablet to get that information in, or use up some spare time between shops, and save it to finish later.
Another option to consider as you upgrade your phone is to check out some of the "phablet" phones, which are bigger than phones or smaller than tablets. I had a Galaxy Note 3 and ended up with the LG V10 (after doing a bunch of shops where I had to ask "what is the best smartphone" and hearing "LG V10" haha). The iPhone 6 is bigger too but I am not as familiar with iphones. The LG V10 I just got has a killer camera.
Thanks everyone....I was tempted to do the buy a new ATT phone shop but I'm still paying for this one! Just saw a Sprint buy shop too........gonna try the clean out first.........thanks so much!!
