fron the calender? The second week of June last year a storm made the house I lived in for 10 years junk by putting one tree in it and a bunch of tree tops on it.
Almost a year later (in JUNE) someone breaks into my new abode this morning after I left for work at 4:30 AM.
I was rushing home to change clothes for a funeral of a friends mother. I noticed my screen door open and a hanging basket on the ground. I knew I shut the screen and figured the plant fell but did not fall over. I got the door open and starting getting out of work clothes to change and my back door was open. It is locked by a slide bolt on the inside. Then I saw the door to the back room open and it is always closed because it is just storage. I walked by where the TV was supposed to be three times before I missed it.
All of a sudden it is no funeral and a call to the police. I was going to the funeral anyway but it was 30 minutes down the road the I was begining to become a basket case so I decided the police was the best bet. I did not want to call it in I wanted the police in my drive.
The bad guys brought their own bucket to put under the window to climb in the window. They had to move a window fan to get after they raised the window. When they closed the window they put the fan back in front of it but left the lamp turned over. They opened the breaker box for some reason but did not turn anything off. Then the moved a step ladder, two picture frames and two totes from in front of the closed door and got the change out of the closet and then put all the stuff back in front of the closet door just like it was. They took everything out the back door, which they had to jump out of because there are no steps but left the back door open. They also emptied a plastic tub that had some change and nail clippers and junk. I liked those clippers.
When I moved in here I said if someone broke in they may get the TV and the HP printer but my lap top and camera they will not get. I take both to work with me every day. I get tired of lugging it around but it is with me when I leave the house. The police said when I leave the house it they leave with me no matter how far or close I am going is a good idea. I said even to the grocery store and he said, "I would." Enough is enough now I just discovered they got some of my cokes.
I think it is now just starting to really set in. I called my friends and they came over and Buck wedged heavy dowels above the windows so now they have to be broken to get into. I am not scared but angry because I had to miss a funeral I really wanted to go to for my friend.
I gotta go look for the papers on the TV and get the paperwork together for some shops tomorrow. I sure could have done without today in my life today. :-)
