In need of some information....

I have been mystery shopping for just over a year now. I started because my hours were cut again at the job I've been at for over 21 years. I also need something with flexibility as I care for my husband who suffers with dementia. The days of being able to leave him alone are numbered, so I'm looking for something that I can do from home. If anyone knows how I can get into editing and what the qualifications are, I would greatly appreciate you letting me know.

Thank you.

Your best bet is to contact the companies with whom you have most successfully been working. I know that A Closer Look frequently is looking for schedulers and editors. If you have worked with them, they could be a start. Otherwise ask schedulers you work with frequently because they may have heard of something.

Good luck.

I was an editor for ACL and Ardent Services (at different times). You do not need a degree in English to be an editor for most MSCs. They generally hire shoppers who have a proven track record of submitting exemplary shops. I was with each of those MSCs for a few years when I was contacted by someone in their editing departments who noticed my consistency in turning in good work. Also consider scheduling, which can also be done from home.

Edited to add that I'm so sorry to hear that your husband has dementia. I wish you the best.

Are you signed up with ACL? They are hiring schedulers. I just got an email today asking if I was interested. I am not because I don't have the time to commit that they want. If you aren't signed up with them, my suggestion is that you do so and do a couple of shops to show your skills. I am pretty sure that most MSCs only hire from within.
