I'm more than a little wary of plant based and lab grown "meat." I also don't eat food out of a box. And I read the labels on ALL of packaged and canned food that I don't put up myself.

I have a serious sensitivity to soy. I was fooled again recently by a supplement that was soy based, and I couldn't return it after it made me swell up and made it hard to breathe for a couple days.
Excellent read! Whoa, continue to avoid soy!
Antipasto, stuffed mushrooms, garlic bread, roast turkey, mashed potatoes with turnips, string beans, Brussels sprouts, fruit tart, rainbow cookies, cheesecake, green tea, decaf espresso. My mom is going to detox everyone this week. Happy Easter!

Wow! Did the Fu Ba Lu’s take part and do they wear bibs? I’m not too proud to wear one or schmooze for food. Save a seat for the next smorgasbord!
They always do, the little Princes! No bibs! Poached/shredded turkey, sweet potatoes, provolone cheese, Brussels sprouts, and kibble. No seasonings. :-)
ok.. I'm doing salads it seems. Yesterday I had a Ceasar Salad kit (a markdown for $1.61), with 5 cherry tomatoes for one of those little tomato containers that was marked down (I've used it for 3 salads so far, and there is still more than half of the container remaining $1.50), and a leftover crispy fried chicken tender (Krispy Krunchy Chicken from a gas station). It was ok, but I really don't like Dole's version of Caesar dressing.

Today I did a different salad kit, Summertime salad?, $1.61 again, $1 pack of tuna, 5 more of those tomatoes. I wasn't disappointed at all with it. The "summer Vinaigrette" was suprisingly good, and it came with shredded swiss cheese, sunflower seeds and an herb packet.
I had a grilled T-bone steak, baked potato, and broccoli crunch salad (all provided by shopping for Confero). It was so good!

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
Made home made Posole with chicken instead of pork.
The broth was amazing and I loved that the chicken simmered down to super tender and wasn’t heavy like pork.
Really shined with fresh cilantro and lime, some fresh guac and chips, and a cold beer.
We've been working until late every night this week.. in fact, I just got home about 2 hours ago tonight, which was the earliest we've made it home all week. We've had some kind of fast food, or 35 mph food wherever we were when we got hungry every night. And tonight I had a very late dinner salad with marked down spring mix, tuna, marked down grape tomatoes, and buffalo ranch dressing. Yesterday we stopped at dinner time at a barbeque place in a city far far away and had pulled pork sandwiches with fried okra and onion rings.. Most of the other nights it was just some tacos from Taco bell because my son got Upside credit for the purchases.
I haven't had a decent meal all week....just eating on the run, unfortunately.
I hope to fix that today.
That posole sounds wonderful. I would prefer chicken over pork too... that bowl of posole I had in Arizona last month had a big pork bone served in the middle of the broth....then I knew it was authentic lol.

This sounds like the perfect detox diet for me! I’m definitely on board! I’ll just take the kibble on the side please. (and sneak it to the fubas when nobody’s looking)
I’ll bring Jell-O shots next time.
a bowl of good chicken tortilla soup and shared a nacho appetizer.
A very large iced tea and fresh grapes and a lemon iced cookie that came all the way from Brooklyn.

Trail mix, water, more trail mix, chrysanthemum tea. I don't want to look at or eat any food.
Made, you're sick? I sure hope you feel better soon.

Anyway, two days at home has been wonderful..

Yesterday I had Chorizo eggs, spinach, salsa and cheese on corn tortillas for breakfast and a salad in the evening.

Today was scrambled eggs with sausage gravy on them for breakfast, dinner was "italian soup" Italian Sausage, spinach, beef broth, italian stewed tomatoes, and potatoes (because my son doesn't understand how salt works). And at 03:00 I'm eating a large slice of razzleberry pie.
MLZ, she just got off a cruise smiling smiley lucky her smiling smiley

What is razzleberry pie?
never heard of it lol

Today's fare:

tomato soup
BLT sandwich
pineapple

coffee

Razzleberry pie is a mixed berry pie, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and cherries. Unfortunately they don't take the seeds out of the blackberries and I end up paying for it. But it really is the best berry pie ever.

I have a feeling that I'm about to be caught in a glitch.. this is the second post I've tried to make that hasn't gone through the first two times I've tried.
sounds very good!

Bare, it IS very good. One of these days I'm going to stop buying Marie Calendar's and make my own, I'm a better cook than her.

I was home for 2 whole days, and most of a 3rd. I had to get away from wheat for a bit, my stomach was sticking out past my boobs and I could just barely waddle. I had scrambled eggs with sausage gravy, salads, all in nice small portions. My stomach is back to limiting my portions, and I'm quitting before the pain starts. So I'm feeling better. I had to do a BWW today, so I got boneless wings and fries, then I drank an iced coffee from one of the gas stations my son did (those coffees in the can always act like a laxative on me). Then we both got bowls at Panda, using my points before coming home.
@Morledzep - I thought you did not do "boneless" wings!

normally I wouldn't. And there were a couple that looked and felt suspiciously like lab grown meat. But it was lunch, with a reduced reimbursement, and traditional wings were more money. I was already full from my previous meal, so a hamburger wasn't in going to work. As it turned out we only beat reimbursement by a few pennies. ($0.34).

on a kick this week with the tomato soup
this time along side a grilled cheese sandwich
served with some bacon and onion jam
iced coffee and a fig biscotti

glad you're feeling better MLZ, is that a wheat allergy?

Life was passing like a hand waving from a train I wanted to be on
Bare, something like that.. my oldest son says it's all in my head because I don't end up in the hospital with anaphylaxis. But when I eat enough wheat products my belly get big and I get constipated. A couple of days of vegetables and meat with only naturally occurring fats and little or no bread usually fixes the problem and makes me feel better. Soy is a little different, it makes me swell up all over, and if it goes on too long I start having trouble breathing and makes my joints hurt so much worse that it's nearly impossible to walk at all.
I've read that not all food intolerances manifest with the same symptoms...so for example, there doesn't need to be anaphylaxis in every case.
Several years ago I read a very interesting book by Dr. William Davis, tittle "Wheat Belly"...it discusses what sounds like something similar to what you experience.

Bare and Mor- Curious to know if either of you have ever tried Digestive Enzymes? I have found them very helpful.
Girly,

digestion isn't an issue. I don't have any type of gastroinstinal distress, and no food passes without being disgested (there is no corn in my poop winking smiley ). When I eat too much wheat or bread my stomach looks like I'm not only fat, but also pregnant. It's uncomfortable, because my clothes feel funny and my shirts ride up. When I eat too much soy the psuedohormones in it, the things that help most women when they are going through menopause, cause me to retain fluid to the point where it could get dangerous.

There is gluten in EVERY type of grain. It's the various strains of wheat that cause a problem for me. I know this because I've experimented with many different grains and eating no grains at all.

I've always been suspicious of soy, and felt like I was eating too much of it. But it really revealed itself to me when a nurse friend suggested that I take black kohash to easy my symptoms after my hysterectomy (complete, including ovaries and cervix). Because I complained to them that the doctor wouldn't listen to me and refused to give me hormone replacement.
As for dinner...

I tried to go to BWW twice tonight, but there is some kind of festival going on in the city where I was supposed to go. The place was crowded, but the parking lot was strangely not as full as the restaurant. They let you change the date in their website now too, so tomorrow was available, I'll try again tomorrow. I had to do a QT too, so I got a personal sized pizza there, and I'll make myself a salad here in a few minutes..
provolone and spiced ham sandwich on Heidelberg bread.
Water

that's all I had all day, except for a couple pieces of licorice/
