Switching to safety razors.

Thought I'd like to make a public service announcement.

I have decided to switch over to safety razors and ditch the disposable razor monopoly scam. You guys know that disposable razors are so expensive, and part of the reason is because of marketing. In 2011, Gillette spent $146 million on media advertisement and $800 million worldwide. In addition, they must have spent a fortune on the Gillette stadium name. Now that the sham has been exposed to you, I will tell you about the safety razor. I just bought a razor blade handle for $11 bucks which comes with 20 replacement razors. A pack of 100-200 will cost around 7-15 dollars. Compare that to the Gillette Fusion Manual Men’s Razor Blade Refills-12 count for 33 dollars.

I would have switched much earlier had I have known this beforehand. Hopefully you guys have become #woke from the brainwashing that the corporate elites have instilled into you. I just want you guys to know that you DO a have a choice, this is America.

LOL! Rinsing and drying the blades after each use will make them last and last and last... My dad would be so proud of you! (Dad is 90. Back in the day, he did this and many other things to save money. I think he has a soft spot for frugal folks.)

Rinse the blades with isopropyl alcohol (just a splash). It helps dry them and they last forever

I'm serious, forever

I get a minimum of two months out of disposable razors by rinsing and drying. The more blades, the lower the life span. My theory is that it is easier for beard stubble to get trapped, thereby trapping moisture, which causes the blade to corrode and dull faster.

Do not read so much, look about you and think of what you see there.

Yes, it's eco friendly and financially beneficial, but I love the way 5 micro blades feel. And I'm not allowed to handle sharp objects.
DavePi, Gillette, a division of Proctor and Gamble, is lowering the price of their disposable razors for that very reason.

Monk, I drew blood using a 5 blade razor. My leg still has the scar.

I don't think that's the reason PG is lowering its prices. There is strong competition with the dollar shave club and other subscription models. They offer disposables at a much lower cost than Gillette. Competition is what drive prices down.

Just know that if you're flying it seems to be a no-no to have safety razor blades in your carry on.

Had my beard for 40 years also but I had to shave it last year for open heart surgery. It was down to my belly button.

I guess I am in the minority... I have sensitive skin. The Gillette Fusion feels much better than a safety razor. I hate paying it, but I do.
