What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I had my furniture delivered today. The company delivering the master bedroom furniture left out the chest. That will be delivered in January. The company delivering the the guest bedroom delivered a broken chest and no rails for the bed. That's important because I am renting out the second bedroom.

Otherwise, I am enjoying my house!

My good friend who I encouraged and supported to go back to college when her youngest left for college in another state is throwing a holiday/graduation party. I will be making a salad and a pie while laughing and rejoicing for her new career as a teacher at 60......YES!!!!!

Today I dealt with alimony BS and lawyers.

Today, i was denied access to my kleenex at one of my jobs. Ew.

In better news, it does not matter if that job disappears or if I just don't go back to that place. Huzzah!

Enjoying retirement after my last job of the year, my one and only Japanese BBQ which they're allowing me to do again (two in two weeks). Katy is the best, she took this over due to the other's owner's death.
They had and I did this job for years, so thanks Katy. Looking at my daughters pic's sent last night of her and her handsome boyfriend, what a cute couple, and I'm busting with pride. Other than that, I'm resting at home, a late night out means a day in..... weather amazing (75%) and sunny yet brisk.

I take public transportation to work. I have a different commute now, and I am trying out different schedules for the bus route that I take.

Today we had a retirement celebration for a big wig. Someone brought in Dunkin Donuts coffee. I drank it all day. I'm still wired. I forgot how addictive it is.

I could have used that coffee earlier, when I was trying to stay awake during a job. This sinus crunprintable is unprintable. It makes me feel yucky and makes me need more sleep. Bleh. !

Pulling out all the stops, which meant expending only enough energy to read, I found a distraction and read a Kate Brian book. The author was new to me. This method was so effective that I reached automatically for kleenex and kept turning pages... Later, I searched for information and found out that this book is in the middle of a series. These books are written [for?] [about?] the young and privileged and how they got that way. Yikes. Being old and boring may be good for my longevity. Eep!

Reading sounds good for today, so a trip to the library or splurging and buying Michele Obama's book which is a runaway hit.....what an amazing life and an inspiration for all woman. Reading, cooking, perhaps a quick sweep of the garage and some pot arranging as I bought a few herbs like Basil and Parsley.

Last day of work at my day job until the 26th. I can't take any extra days as my co-worker at my dedicated account took the week of Christmas. Looking forward to time with family, friends, and all. I wish you all a great Christmas or whichever holiday you subscribe to.

Wait, who is that?! I wanna chat!
Families hate, I can not wait.
Tybalt can see, he's out for me.
He'll snuff my bro Mercutio.
Sneak 'round the house, she'll be my spouse.
My cousin Ben says, "Not again!"
What's that I hear?! She holds me dear!

What light through yonder window does break?
Sneak to the friar, wedding vows make.

Juliet she sets my heart a-buzzin'.
My best friend is dead—I'll kill her cousin!

One blissful night, then put to flight.
She's dead, I learn, so I return.
Paris I duel, run through that tool.
With a kiss I fall and I die.

Napping. Finishing a holiday-themed game. Giving myself scalp and brow massages. I do not know if this really works to stimulate hair growth (as some persons claim). Anecdotally, my brows are practically intact now, and they have a semblance of their gull wing shape. This is an 83% improvement over their sparse condition at this time last year. Huzzah.

We are driving to TN to go on vacation for a few days. We have two minor dining shops, fast casual. Merry Christmas to all who celebrate!
Reading, relaxing, normal stuff as my holiday has come and gone. Nothing is open, so forced to stay home...
HAPPY MERRY AND ALL GOOD STUFF FOR THE NEW YEAR!!

Fun, Irene. I think of "happy holidays" for the entire year, in the entire world, for all celebrations. Azalea or whatever festival somewhere? Happy! Holy something or other? Happy! Someone is wiser or at least a year older now? Happy! Even if someone celebrates something that I would not choose to, it is okay. Happy for me.

Anyway, this is a nice little day. Early morning job was scarcely noticeable. Feast food was fantastic. Above all, cleaning out nooks and crannies and getting rid of stuff is the best present to us. It allows us to begin a new calendar year with a slightly different look and feel in our space. We have other newness in our space. Neighbors who relocated gave us plants and chairs. We added pillows, angled chairs this way and that, put the plants where they seemed to want to be, and [stop reading now, please. Wala!] we have a few new ideas in our place.

My happy is I get to skype with daughter later who I spoke to at 7:30 AM and was told all about her plans.
I will meet her serious boyfriend on skype...I'm already crazy about him as (she says) he is so good to her,
and their planning a trip to Cancun to start the new year (he's a good one, a keeper). Happy for her from my tippy toes to my sometimes empty head....cried on the phone hearing her so happy.......WALA.

Irene that is so awesome! I'm happy for her as well!

The plan was to assemble the bed rails for the guest bed room. I'm still in my PJs. I did try to root my phone, but that went sideways. I participated in a prayer call at 9, and talked to the parents after.

A wonderful day!

Well, first of all, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

Secondly, a quick backstory.........several months ago, our dryer vent fell off our brick, that connected our dryer hose to the outside world. I kept telling my husband we need to get that fixed before all the woodland creatures take up residence for the winter inside our crawl space. Well, about 3 weeks ago, sure enough, we heard something under the house. Long story short, we got our dryer vent fixed last Thursday, and borrowed a "catch and release" trap from a friend at church. We set it yesterday with some cut apples inside and around the trap.

Now today....hubby getting ready to take the dog to the park, but first checked under the house...yup, a possum!!! It didn't look full grown, nor did it look like a baby...I guess it was a teenage possum, haha!! So he
took him off to the nearby park where there are LOTS of woods and trees! Hope he'll be a happy possum!! We re-set the trap, just in case there are any siblings hanging around that we don't know about!

So we finished our Christmas dinner about an hour ago...hubby wanted grilled ribeye steak, so that's what we had! Yum-yum! Friends coming over for dessert, coffee and fellowship in about 30 minutes.
We had our big family Christmas celebration earlier in the month, so today was quiet. Hubby, Youngest Son, and I went to the Oriental market for a couple of produce items we forgot for our dinner, then looked around. Later in the day, after a great tamale dinner, Hubby and I took a walk.

Currently I am facing little problem with a disease and I am going for it's testing. By the way I love to go out for movies, horror houses, malls and to do something adventures on holidays.

My present to myself this year has been spending time catching up with friends I haven't seen in 10-20 years. In the process, I discovered that my best friend from high school years has married another long-lost friend. Since I knew him from a completely different social circle, I was floored that they even knew each other.

After many good laughs, and me asking her if she had lost her mind (he used to be quite the wild child) we have decided to make regular dinner date plans. Now if only I could find more shops that allow 3 guests...
There was ANOTHER possum caught in our "catch and release" trap this morning!! So off to the park HE (or she) went!! They sure seem to love apples, especially if they've been under the house starving with nothing to eat for several days, ever since the dryer vent got repaired. SO......we'll set the trap yet AGAIN and see what happens!! Hope there are no more!!
Scheduled work. Reviewed guidelines for upcoming assignment. Looked at new phones. Eep! I want a very large screen, but my wallet does not want to pay for a very large screen. So far, the wallet is winning. How long can shopetal go without a phone? Only time will tell....

Husband is on Federal government furlough. He came with me for today's errands and shop (walked around the area while I was inside the store) and then we went out to lunch. Both my waistline and my budget hope this doesn't turn into a regular thing.

Shop, I buy my phones off of eBay. Verizon is very expensive to buy phones from. They charge $50 for the privilege of buying from them, on top of the regular price.

I just got a new Samsung Galaxy S7 from eBay for $209. I took it to Verizon to get the sim card and I'm up and running.
