I picked up some crab legs yesterday and had some for dinner tonight. YUMMY!

One day I came home from work, and my garage door was wide open. That mistake only happened once.

You left it open by accident? Or it was a strange occurrence?
I didn't press hard enough on the remote. When I drove off, I didn't look to make sure it was closed.

It was open for 10 hours. Luckily, nothing was missing.

Finishing up 3 reports. Then off to lunch at a new location for favorite Tex-Mex place with a local shopper buddy. We are going to surprise his daughter, who just moved to this area as assistant general manger of the restaurant.

Did not go fishing. It's okay. We stocked up on a boatload of stuff yesterday, and today I am finding resourceful ways to store it. Again, it's okay. In a few weeks, there will be enough free space to put things back in a logical way. I love to do this because later, I spend less time and money at whatever food stores I choose. It also makes the hubby feel useful when he gets to choose stuff. Yesterday, he chose towels, electronics, and road trip food. Next time, he can choose... whatever.

Waiting for painter, coming at noon to give estimate. Nothing else to do, Veteran's pickup coming between 9 and 5...completing giveaway bags, hoping to get a dent in stuff, feels good to "unload", this time in life, less is more.
First open house will be June 23rd....yikes!! Using REX at 2%, instead of paying 6% Brokers fee. No work, now retired 98%....love it.

Mmm hmm. Sure you are. You've said that before! grinning smiley Did you know that 86.34 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot?

True, I said it as I've slowly stopped working...argue all you want, I know the truth. What's the deal with quoting statistics, I'm not one and do you know my life...just askin.....

Irene, you have retired before. But if you are serious about it this time, good luck!

I have been serious all year, with aging out of some favorites, seeing lower than low prices, preparing for a huge move, and slowly taking less and less jobs, just don't want to work with the exception of a few lunch places that I will continue to do, only a couple a week. I will also do a couple groceries on the weekend, because it;s not work one has to eat....since I've been refusing all jobs and not driving other hings are in place, it was a good run.
My buddies on the forum are why I continue here.

Irene, you should continue here because you are good at this social thing. If you want to.

I would miss you if you left. If you feel like you must shop to be here then just do one grocery shop a month. Like you said you need to eat anyway.

Today I have been sitting around chortling at the idiots who took some less than idea gas stations for the whopping fee of $16. There are a lot of shopping choices here at the moment. For one location in particular, I would not tie myself up for 2 hours trying not to get run over, for $16 when I could make that in one 10 minute air conditioned retail shop. They will either complete and never do again, or not complete and I'll do it later when the fee is more reasonable. Either way I consider it a win for me.
So that's shopping related but not shopping. I am also trying to think of something new to make when I get back from my shops this afternoon. I will also spend a couple of hours weeding my flowerbed where I have a lot of gorgeous daylilies getting ready to bloom.
Cannot get the Shaft theme out of my head. "Shaft!" That bright, piercing syllable from decades ago is unforgettable. Come to think of it, it should appear in DavePi's infamous rainbow font with a little light shaft action for good measure. Where is DavePi????? Aaaaannnnnyyyyywwwwaaaaayyyy, the hubby wants to see the new Shaft movie. Me, not so much. But I will go.

*eta*

I went. They did a great job with incorporating the generations! The new music is perfect for today, but it doesn't have the same "Shaft!".

I would miss you too, Irene! If you do move closer to your daughter, do you think you might do a shop or two in your new neighborhood?
You would be missed! Where do you plan to move ?

Getting ready to leave for three weeks in California to help out Son and DIL with their new babies (twins who are scheduled to be born on the 24th). They also have a 2 1/2 year old son, so it will be a very busy time for them. It's strange to ignore all of the shop emails that have come over in the past few days.

Today has been a waste so far. I spent 3 hours on a 60 mile bus ride to meet my boyfriend and now he's stuck in the shore traffic . I was going yo do a shop nearby, but now I'm glad i didn't.

Are you okay? You seem rather snippy and sarcastic lately. Not just this post, but others as well.

Perhaps a little background information will clarify some things for you. Over the course of a few posts,
Irene indicated that she was relocating and completely retiring. As a result, she would be ineligible to participate. Technically, that might be true. However, if there is no strict rule about retired shoppers, why shouldn't we let Irene know that she would be missed if she stopped posting or accepted if she continued to participate?

As for other posts, you have not liked those posts. Think they were a bit like the pots and the kettles. grinning smiley The better question would be, are you and others who post similarly okay? I believe that there is a double standard in this forum. Some people are as mean as snakes. Others like their posts and practically lionize them! Others, for whatever reason exists within the pecking order, are chastised, asked if they are okay, and otherwise shamed for the same behavior. The best question is, is this okay?

Might be in the same boat as Irene... I am not relocating, but I have no assignments planned for several weeks. During this time, I am on hiatus. I am 'not a shopper' and am free to do something besides visit a shopper forum.

First up? Deal with merch detritus that has been accumulating for a few weeks. Toss; recycle; and save only the few pieces that might be asked for in future.

We are taiking our son to work about a hour one way from here , then Lannie has to work a little while .Lastly I will do two shops that are due today or tomorrow or go to his Lannie cousin that is in the hosptail. The one we did not do today we will do tomorrow.
Shop,
I read Honny's post quite differently. I thought she was genuinely concerned about you, since "snippiness" is n and be satisfied that no harm was intended by anyone. ot your ordinary demeanor at all. I also thought that Honny misinterpreted your post as "snippy."

Perhaps we should all smile, nod, and continue, satisfied that no harm was intended by anyone.

Shop...I am flattered that you continue to mention me, so, please get my posts right...I said I would continue with my restaurant/food shopping, but have 99% stopped all other shopping, so, my finger or mouth is still in the game. Wherever I relocate to, shopping is available. Posting, I will if I choose to, I don't think Jacob will kick me out as I have a truck load of information for the newcomers. My choice and I (alone) will say what is happening.
Reading and interrupting another's post can be tricky ff you then incorporaie your own thoughts.
