What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

My family is in South Carolina for Thanksgiving. I'll join them via Zoom. I'm making a laundry list of To Dos around the house.

I'm in South Carolina, Honny!! My step son, in Jacksonville, Florida, called today to say he's gonna try to drive up here for Thanksgiving dinner with his girlfriend and his 5 year old daughter!! He's got to work till like 2 in the morning, and said he can drive up here at 4 am and get here by 11 or so! Phew! It would be great if they can make it, but that's quite a haul! He'll let us know in the early morning if they're coming. My other step son will be here. My son and his family are up in NC and will be there for Thanksgiving. His wife and daughter have been sick. He and his son are OK, so he's doing the cooking.

Even though I'm at Middle Son's house I still put together the cranberry jello recipe that's been on the Thanksgiving table for decades. It was strange to be working in an unfamiliar kitchen. Grandson #1 has severe nut allergies, so at his mom's request I substituted macadamia nuts for walnuts. I also had to tear up regular-sized marshmallows because she couldn't find any mini ones.

Slept late (until 6:30 AM). Yay! Lovelovelove all the travel & food plans you have posted. In contrast, we are bringing flowers for mil and extra blankies for the road trip (just in case the weather gods are secretly planning an unforeseeable and unscheduled disruption of the drive).

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Scheduled a few gigs for next week. Smile at the pleasant memories from yesterday, especially food and mil's holiday decorations. She has a real flair for setting up displays! She would have been a top-notch window or store decorator. I will forever wonder why she never pursued that job or career. She and sil provided a non-traditional feast. Oh, it was goooooooood!

We are celebrating Thanksgiving today. Been a rough couple of days. I had my booster shot on Wednesday. I had high fever at night, so I took a couple of Tylenol. By morning, I was so woozy that I blacked out and fell unconscious in the bathroom. Called husband for help and when he tried bringing me out, I collapsed on him again. The on call doctor advised going against ER and said that it was just a case of dehydration. Apparently, the Tylenol dehydrated me and I should have taken enough fluids. The whole day was nausea, vomiting, and headache. It was only after 9 at night when I felt better. Luckily, I survived the fall with a scratch and a bruise and nothing terrible.
Anyone getting their booster shot and taking meds for fever, please make sure to hydrate and keep an eye on your loved ones. Happy Thanksgiving!
Oh my goodness, mum! What an experience you had! I hope you feel 100% better very, very soon!
The Christmas presents I sent to Middle Sons house got thrown in with other boxes (they do most of their shopping online), but all were eventually found. Today I wrapped the presents and put them in a closet. With twin two-year olds they are not putting ANYTHING under the tree right now.

Thanks @guysmom.. I am weak but so much better. Enjoyed a simple yet delicious Thanksgiving meal made by DH today. Did your step son arrive in time for Thanksgiving?

My step-son w/our 5 yr old granddaughter, and his girlfriend, made it from Florida. My other step-son decided he better wait bc he is just getting over a very bad bronchitis. It wasn't covid, and he was put on antibiotics. And bc it wasn't covid, his employer said he had to go back to work, and he's just now getting over it. So he wanted to rest on this 4 day weekend. Can't blame him. Said he'll come up either next weekend or sometime soon

More of projects. Work. Everything else revolves in one way or another around the current spate of gigs. I need a new gig plan for next year. I have been summoned for jury duty. This is not so bad. The term is only six months. Since some IC assignments are time sensitive, it might be best to schedule shops with time frames. I can wrap those assignments around any trips to the courthouse. In all the years of eligibility for summons, I have only been called to appear once/assigned to one jury. I would not like to find out that my luck has changed and then have to cancel or change shop dates too often. Schedulers would not mind too much because other shoppers have been under the summons of jury duty for which one might be commanded to appear on short notice. I would mind if too many changes made me irritated, frazzled, or led to a repeat of the logjam of projects which is going away by the end of the year.

Yet another Keurig broke this morning. I'm thankful that I was able to get one cup out of it.

Refusing to think that I am the problem and it's the brand, I bought a no name k-cup brewer from Amazon. It will be delivered on Tuesday. I will have to buy coffee during my walk on Monday.

Laundry, vacuuming, kitchen cleaning. Mom is here riding herd. Have my 3 cleaning elves humoring her. Oh, what a feeling!
I thinned my closet then forgot to drop the bags off at Goodwill. Close to home, I remembered a donation box at my church. I'm thawing out a package of sausage for lunch and dinner tomorrow.

Hi All!
My primary computer is not working, so I'm on my laptop. Of course I couldn't remember my password for the forum, but I finally figured it out! Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!

How did thinning out one walk in closet result in a hurricane in the rest of my house?

I went to Aldi's yesterday. They had frozen Chilean sea bass, which I absolutely love. I got a big tub of potato sticks for my car snacks and caramel wafer cookies, among the other usual.

Gorgeous day! Wearing the smaller pants and attempting to quantify how much I will miss them and the sweater I am wearing. I will miss them a lot, bwahahaha. But when I need something else, I can get more of these clothes when they are on sale (unless the gods of jeans smile upon me at thrift). Just knowing where decent clothes are on sale when thrift does not have something for me is amazing. It keeps me going to the next smaller size. Less of me is a good thing.

Counting down the days until winter hiatus from work. I do not know when that begins because sometimes we do not follow the campus schedule exactly. I only know that I lost my voice recently and had to cancel one shift due to no voice. That was absurd, and I am ready for a silence break. Meanwhile, I am going to enjoy another gorgeous day, a little road trip, and diy nachos. Well, I hope they are edible and enjoyable. We will see.....

My coffee maker was delivered today. I will be wired tomorrow!

I lost the remote for the living room TV. I think it went with the garbage. I used my home office for the first time. It was nice! I have a trackball mouse and a funky keyboard. I assembled the base of the chair but not the backrest. I have somewhere to sit. Good enough!

It was gorgeous, again. smiling smiley I went to the grocery store, worked out, and worked. Instead of putting away some foods that I planned to use tomorrow, I grouped them together and specifically stated that such-and-such groceries were grouped together for a few days so that I can make certain recipes without gathering ingredients that were put away needlessly. Unsurprisingly, hubby is eating the recipe ingredients and still hoping that I will buy more groceries for the recipes. Bwahaha! Silly.

Nursing the crud. Low grade temp, nasal congestion, cough, fatigue...yuk! At least home Covid test was negative this morning! Taking everything known to man to combat it! Just have to bide my time while it runs its course.
Hah. The diy nachos were pretty good. Next time, I will change it up a bit. Wondering if the world is on the brink of a newly defined childhood which will obliterate tweens and teens. The Michigan school shooting suspect, aged 15, will be tried as an adult. Connecticut has lowered its age of consent to 16. There are the quincienerias and age twelve or so as an age of responsibility, or awareness, or something. There is a rite of passage for menarche. Picture it: The year was 2030. Middle school graduation is the new high school diploma or GED. The old high school is the new basic college degree, and no one will have time for more than that. They will be busy with partners, offspring, and/or jobs.

Sort and shred. Count down the days when those projects are finished forever. Try to remember to put cranberries and dates on a shopping list.

Leaving for an urgent care visit in about 15 min. It's connected to my dr's medical practice, but he was full up today. The ratings for this urgent care are great, so I hope they can take the time needed to figure out what's going on with me, and why this crud hasn't left me yet!
I woke up too early this morning. I took a nap after work and now I'm watching Annie Live. It's my first time seeing it.

Taking rents to the bank; wine pick-up; RX pick-up; short grocery store visit (non-MS). Then home to sort clothing and other items for large donation to neighborhood shelter. This is also a celebration of losing a full size and keeping it off for one year!
