What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

DD's daycare called on Thursday stating that one of her teachers had C-19. She is not allowed to go back for two weeks. Now I'm going to have to keep her at home. I dread missing work for that long.

Free day! We postponed the car stuff until today and I postponed paperwork until this evening. Two sappy movies, back to back, provide the right amount of time to sort stuff and listen with one ear to the plot while the ads provide the right time and impetus to scurry about and do tiny tasks. This is not a recommendable system, and no one should think they should try this. It just works when I would rather stretch out with a book and not move until the end of the story there, satisfied grin on face, and a little head shake to bridge from book reality to my reality. I love those days... and will have a few of them... as soon as possible...

I finally got my MS spreadsheet completed. Luckily, October - December were light due to the day job. I'm catching up on OnDemand.

Class at the gym, then popped into GFS and found out they didn't have any bags of spinach. Texted Hubby to buy some on his way home. Tonight Youngest Son is coming for dinner-a combination of a late Christmas and early birthday celebration for me.

Only a few things: work out, clean something, sort something, read something, and clean the 'fridge.

I did beginner's Pilates this morning. It was a great workout and I still feel it. In the past, I've jumped into different workouts at the advanced level and quit when they kicked me in the bum. I'm going to follow this channel methodically: beginner's to advanced.

I got a call from the furniture store today that the two love seats we ordered LAST APRIL have arrived! They will be delivered on Thursday

Honny, that's a good plan. I followed C25K slowly and carefully last year and slow really works!

Again, only a few things: sort something, clean something, fave workout, fave stretch, laundry, nap, and (finally!) arrange for a certified copy of my marriage certificate. It took more time to locate the correct resource/process than to send/receive e-mail inquiry from them. So all is well, and soon I can get my whopping seventeen dollars out of an old, pre-marriage account. At least this detail will be finished, if not profitable. It costs more to get the money than to have it... grinning smiley

Today I've made another trip around the sun. Will celebrate with a trip to the chiropractor for an adjustment, a matinee movie (American Underdog, the Kurt Warner story), a free Starbucks latte, and a dinner at Uncle Julios.

I looked into C25K also. I was an avid runner in the past. I might get back into it since there is a track walking distance from me.

Today is all about the shredding, the blitz cleaning in the brief times when the shredder is resting, and eventually running a few errands. I could have used one of those really expensive industrial strength shredders that work twelve times as hard as my little machine. OTOH, paperwork is abating in favor of digital concepts and I can use this in a hausfrau sort of way. Shred, clean/shredder takes a nap; shred, clean/shredder takes a nap; etc. Ohm. This shredding project will soon be completed and gone forever, and I will be free to do what I want to do in between bouts of sorting other stuff and making it go away forever. All is well. Ohm.

Our area's Covid numbers are going through the roof, and we've been asked to curtail all non-essential activities until the spike goes down. Right now I mainly do mystery shops for extra money, so after tonight's Texas Roadhouse I will be taking a break until it feels safe to go back.

I did 2 15-minute pilates classes this morning on YouTube.

Postponed yesterday's noisy shredding in favor of numerous, unavoidable phone calls. So today is for a few errands, a little sorting, and early to bed, I am attempting to return to talking heads r us. That is not going so well. For starters, I would need a consistent voice.

Food shortages here. I am having a hard time finding eggs, spinach, arugula and chicken breast. Went to the supermarket today and bought mushrooms, potatoes and onions. Totally frustrating. Wound up going to Trader Joe's and got everything else I needed. I am going to go to Costco tomorrow and if I see the 5 dozen eggs, they're mine. Hoping they have the big tub of spinach.
Our reclining love seats were delivered this afternoon. We special ordered both with manual lift, but one of them came from the factory with an power lift! The delivery associate communicated with the store office and said they would be calling us. Twenty minutes later I was talking with the office. He offered to supply us with a battery pack. We agreed, and it will be delivered next week.

Try an international market. The one I go to doesn't seem to have the same supply chain issues as the chains do.

I skipped Pilates this morning. I am so glad I did. When I did my Looks later in the day, there were a lot of steep hills.

Substitute teaching. Now, couch, TV and popcorn.
Trying to mainly stay home, our numbers are scary.
Wishing for a better voice: this one causes me to lose money at wage job and gigs. Oh, well. If ever it is true that doors close but windows open, as an old saying implies, what is in the realm of the possible for me and my voice that is often silent?

My car is in the shop, so I will be attending a standing meeting via Zoom. This afternoon another Zoom call with a woman across the state to touch base on a project we're doing together. If the forecast rain/snow hasn't started after meeting #1 I will walk up to the grocery store for a couple of things.

Time goes by fast when you don't have to go to work. I love being with my DD at home. She keeps me busy...feeding, cleaning, potty training, repeat. Lol However, I need to do my taxes and put together my porch swing on top of sub lesson plans for next week. I do have an appointment to get my buster shot today. I hope it doesn't make ne feel bad.

Don't know where you are, KathyG, but I'm in the northwest corner of SC....we're getting ready for a MAJOR snow event. The mountains in NC can get 12-20" snow, my area is forecast to get 6-8" snow, less as you go further south. But the dangerous aspect to all this is the sleet/ice that will be accompanying this. Hubby and I hope we're far enough away from getting more than just a brief amount of that. It was CRAZY when I did my grocery shopping yesterday, a day earlier than normal, due to the forecast. Gotta go out today for a few more things. Snow is supposed to start very late Saturday/very early Sunday, then quit late Sunday afternoon/early Sunday evening. We've got gas logs, so we'll be warm even if the power goes out.....Oh.....and for anyone who DOESN'T live in the South.....well, even the mere MENTION of the POSSIBILITY of snow will actually cancel schools and make people go crazy buying up the entire grocery store! So my area getting 6-8" will keep schools closed all next week, you can be sure of that!!
