I replaced the water pump on our truck today. This was the 4th time! Of course, it has over 320k miles. 
Taking a day off from subbing. Enjoying the Great British Baking Show on Netflix.
I have seasoned some turkey thighs and will let them "rest" for a couple of hours before roasting them. Meanwhile, doing 2 loads of laundry, a ton of dish-washing (some by hand, some in DWer); further progress on moving warm weather clothing to storage and cool/cold weather stuff out for use.; prepping several meals worth of steamed fresh broccoli florets in the microwave; delaying some errands to tomorrow due to very heavy, persistent rain here. (Actually, we should all be out dancing in this much-needed rain! The DMV area has been in and out of, but mostly in, drought conditions most of this yeard.)

Ran errands after standing Friday morning meeting, including buying an adorable plaid flat cap to send to Youngest Grandchild, who is turning one year old next week.
Back at home made muffins and cooked off some tofu for lunches. Later today will go to the bookstore and pick out a board book to send with the cap. (I will wait until hearing what Hubby's doctor says about ankle surgery at Monday's appointment, but 99% sure I won't be flying out to California to deliver present myself).

Love the GBBS. Don't have streaming or television services, but learned that Youtube shows some episodes of the bake off shows from multiple countries. Always fascinating and always easy to root for all contestants. Someone always has to leave, alas.

I created a form, mixed 6-1/2 bags of cement, poured and troweled a 24" X 36" pad in front of a garage service door. I'll remove the form tomorrow...

Much needed PTO today. Work, marathons, sunrise hikes, cancer walks, mah jong parties and service, fund raising. Finalized menu and reservation for a monumental bday party for 20 at the Capital Grille in early December. Back on the treadmill tomorrow. Let the games begin.

Finally, my doctor was convinced that my cough won't leave me without antibiotics. The massive ear infection sped her decision of course. I feel fine just after 2 doses. Got a great deal on sneakers and comfy slip-on shoes at Costco yesterday. Today, we have a Diwali party invitation in the evening. Happy Diwali!

Did not find exactly what I needed. Must now use the internet. OTOH, my little fingertips now know what the current materials feel like and my little eyeballs now know what the various details look like up close and personal. Best of all, it was good to enjoy another gorgeous day and observe small and large changes in nearby cities.

I had a nice surprise this norning. One of my fiddleleaf ferns died a slow death due to low light. I placed it next to the trash can as a reminder to get rid of it. This was maybe 2 months ago. This morning, I went to dump the dirt for trash day, and there is a new leaf.

I'll never understand how other people pay someone to change their vehicle oil. I like to see under and around the engine, the old oil and filter, know how tight the plug and filter are, and inspect other areas of the vehicle.

It's not hard. I'd say changing a car's oil and filter is on the same difficulty level as baking a boxed cake. A couple of ingredients and a few tools.
But no, I prefer not to work on other people's cars. If ANYTHING does wrong with their car, they would want to blame the oil change(er). I have enough cars, motorcycles, trailers, computers, alarm / camera systems, personal finances, and homes to work on and maintain. I'll just give free advice.
Ironic, isn't it, that some people who believe that Donald Trump was involved in prior election interference now openly practice election interference by suing to remove the name of Donald Trump from ballots. On the bright side, the shoes I ordered arrived and fit! Presumably, feet will stay in their final/typical size and there will be no need to get more shoes for awhile. !

Nope. Not gonna do it this time. No COVID booster for me. I got all the COVID shots as they were available. Then several weeks later, with no workplace interaction, only two friends nearby and minimal interaction with the public, I got COVID in Jan of this year.
Meanwhile, my annual Flu shot seems to work fine, colonoscopy found nothing abnormal, eye dr appmt complete, dental cleanings complete and annual physical appmt set for Dec.
In the meantime, I've got to complete my packing list for a trip to Europe in a few wks...

Prepping more food and sending hubby on two errands. Between bouts of slicing, dicing, and freezing will check on football games. After today, we will know who is still in bowl contention and who will dream for another year.

Cleaned and did laundry all weekend. Purged and have two big bags for elementary school fundraiser. We ladies watched a replay of the Miss Universe evening gown competition. Stunning dresses.
