I had a job interview that was done by artificial intelligence. The interviewer sounded robototic. I was very out of sorts.

I drove and arrived at my destination....a Buddhist retreat. We will be here for about a week.
This building is perched on the cliff of a steep hill....and we are surrounded by deep woods, but with the leaves now thinned out, I can see all the way down to the valley. There are squirrels jumping all around the deck. I love it. Ohm.

It was a phone interview. It was a first interview, so standard questions (engineering).

I had STEM class in Middle School and just half a day. So, came home and started this 2008 movie Deception.
walked a labyrinth, participated in a chant group, meditated, petted a sweet beagle, shared a big pot of chili and a bonfire with a wonderful group of humans and tomorrow we get the fortune of doing it all again.

@prince. I am subbing for Middle School everyday. I was so apprehensive initially about older kids but since this is so close to where I live now (after moving in April), I decided to give it a try. Definitely less work than Elementary and I love the commute which is a 5 minute walk. I come home for lunch too!
But, I do miss the little kids sometimes. Maybe, I'll take a break when I get tired of kids who are at least a foot taller than me!!

When I was new to subbing, I thought of familiarizing myself with the curriculum in the higher grades and leaving the runny noses behind
But I ended up sticking with what I taught.
When I sub at Hutterite Colonies, I have students from 6 to 15. It's enjoyable.

Busy beating the pavement hard today. I love being being back in my home. Furry baby is happy. DH is snoring. Kids all out. Going out all day tomorrow and then picking up Mom. Can't wait for Sunday when I plan on doing nothing but having tea with my Mommy.
Brings back my memories of tea with my grandmother...
I was her last grandchild and not in school yet. (So I had her all to myself) She'd take me to a local drugstore which had a counter and stools. I'd pull myself up on the stool and ask for a hot tea and grilled cinnamon bun. Afterwards we'd walk into a nearby store. My grandmother would be looking at dress patterns and yarn while I drooled over the newest Matchbox cars in an aisle nearby.

I'm back home after a good week....nice to get out in nature before the really cold weather sets in.
Up early to drive to a family gathering today....my niece is home for a visit from California (or do the cool kids still call it Cali?) and we're all going to brunch, but ouch, she got an early reservation for us.
So brunch it will be....then westing and wewaxing before jumping into the next project.

This morning I decided to use a pack of fuchsia powdered dye to transform one oatmeal color shirt and 3 pr dingy socks. I learned it's a good idea to follow directions that recommend using plastic gloves. My hands look like I murdered someone.
How did the sauerkraut soup turn out? I am curious about making that some time.

Subbed for Art Class in Elementary. It was early release today since it's Friday. Will have some tea and then The Great British Baking Show.
I rented time at a vehicle lift, stood under our truck for 3-1/2 hours and replaced the automatic transmission lines (corrosion leak), replaced the transmission fluid and filter. Got that fresh and leak free feeling!
Washing floors. Yoga. Walking, hopefully 5K.

Left home early this morning, four shops today, none of them were quick....now resting at the Marriott with my feet up. Enjoying a sfogliatelle and getting ready to watch my brother in law in a poker tournament tomorrow.

I had to look that up...yum...reminds me of our trip this past year to Roma. I now buy the dozen croissants at Costco for $5.99 every so often and freeze them until the day before I plan to gently warm them back up.
They're a regional specialty here in this area...and usually made by grandmas slaving away in the back of the family deli. I love the way they're pronounced : sh-f-ee-a-dell. Often mentioned on episodes of the Sopranos.
We also had a slice of their tomato pie for lunch from the same shop - and no, it's not pizza lol.
