Since we bought the house last year, we grew basil, tomatoes, and radishes. We had tons of basil and tomatoes the whole summer and the radishes took some time but we were able to enjoy them at the brink of Fall.
I'm relaxing, reading The Nightengale by Kristan Hannah for book club.
Such a depressing story. I'm done with WW2!

A couple weeks of no snow and I finally got the packed snow off the driveway. Ready for fresh snow!

I was in no mood to sub today. Maybe it was the Daylight Savings or just the amount of cooking I did yesterday. I canceled today's job and off tomorrow too since it is a half day.

I made some beef short ribs yesterday. They came out so tough, they were inedible. I called Chef Mom and she told me to cook them longer. Four hours later, they are delicious!

Mum, I turned down work today. But I'm old, I need to be semi-retired.
Got rid of a bunch of school papers, need to get rid more. I never use my own stuff when I'm subbing, it seems.
Organized other papers for taxes.
Snow removal.

We call them chokecherries here in the US also. My husband and I pick them every year. I like to make jelly and syrup as well. Do you have wild plums over there? We have oodles and oodles of them along the gravel roads. They are about three times the size of a choke cherry so you don’t have to pick me as many to make your jellies.
Tis the season for Spring Break. I have a couple of internet shops that will be completed by Tuesday. It will be mostly cooking, cleaning, and TV.

I have never seen wild plums here in central AB. Hubby grew up finding them in Southern Manitoba.
We have Saskatoon berries (might be called service berries) hazelnuts, gooseberries, pin cherries, strawberries and raspberries that grow wild. Blue berries too, but I don't find them often.

Where I live, what we call chokeberries or Aronia berries grow wild or can be cultivated (I think).

Ah, skiiing...would love to get out again. I always had that feeling of wanting to head to a nice pub after a day of skiing. Found out I was always fully exhausted at the end of the day and fell asleep in front of the TV in the condo living room. Whenever we could, we tried to get ski-in, ski-out to maximize the day's runs.
Honny, seems like there might be other sources you could turn to with lower interest rates? even a cash advance should be lower (on your credit card)....

No need to maximize runs today. We were so tired at lunch time we chose a restaurant at the hill based on not having to climb stairs in our ski boots or climb a hill to our preferred spot. LOL Not in shape for skiing. Wow!
We own a holiday Condo outside of the National Park (makes money while we sleep)
So, we always stay there.

Today? we're crossing over from Georgia to Florida...and it sometimes does feel like another country lol.
Headed to our favorite town in the whole state....well maybe second favorite.
Looking forward to a swim later on today and a cold one or two....finally staying somewhere for more than one night.
